And you'll remove a sniper's bid how? You'll need an incredible internet connection and lightning reflexes to remove a bid in less than 5 seconds. :p

Well there are some things that can be done in 5 seconds....:o

Do people snipe just for the fun of it? Couldn’t you just specify in the background (not on the ad) no bids with less than 7 seconds to go for example?

I am getting the impression that you don't use ebay very much?

Sniping is something that you can't ban and can't stop, think about it logically, how can you stop an unknown bidder from bidding in the last few seconds?

998 feedback since it first started, not sure if thats a lot of use or not by todays standards, havent come across a snipe before. Heard about it but never looked into it.

I just thought if a snipers program was set to put in a bid with 3 seconds to go and you had a program that wouldnt allow any after say 5 seconds it would somehow deflect their bid. So logically if someone had the programming ability it could be stopped, regardless if they are a sniper or a genuine bidder.

It would require ebay to be re programmed, and to do that you would need to hack ebay..and I really don't think that is a good idea.

Definitely not a good idea, although possible.

since cars are a cash (never ever take paypal of course) process
You have to accept PayPal if that's what the buyer wants, don't you?
Or is it different for cars?

Motor vehicles is the only category that is exempt, but some people do , strangely enough, insist on still taking paypal.

Those people are known as morons :p

Or asking for it, depending which way you look at it. Either way, Paypal on a car... not a good idea.

Although maybe encouraged id say dont be hasty, everyone starts on zero. Maybe put in your ad contact me if less than 5 etc or contact them and say i am going to delete your bid as your feedback is low and please reply if you are a genuine bidder, then they may say they are genuine and please allow their bid, something which i would then allow as they had the decency to to either contact you or reply to your request.

It still doesn't stop 0 feedback snipers. On a high-value auction, there's no point in risking that.

When setting up the auction, you can have eBay block bids from people with less than 1 feedback. This is encouraged.

No you can't - You can only block people with a negative value of feedback. There is no way to 'automatically' block zero raters.
