Razor Blades

When you look at the feedback given to many of the sellers offering cheap branded razor blades you'll see comments from buyers saying that they are counterfeits. I'm sure that you can save some money on ebay compared to normal retailers but Aldi blades will still come in cheaper.0

pmsl:rotfl: My son does a lot of bodyboarding and stunt skating, it doesn't use electric either but that don't make it OS!Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -

Now that a new Gillette system has been launched with even higher prices I baulked at the idea of upgrading.
As a happy user of many own brand products I've tried 2 much lower cost alternatives.
Tesco's triple blade system - £3 approx for 4 blades. Doesn't shave as close as Gillette but the blades seem to last as long (5-6 days or so).
Big down side is the very fiddly replacement of blades.
Aldi's Excite For Men triple blade system. £1.59 for 4 blades. Shaves 90 to 95% as well as Gillette. Blades also stay sharp for the same amount of time.
Was paying about £6 for 4 Gillette blades. No contest. Aldi wins hands down.
I use MACH 3 and only change my blades once a month and don't notice much difference. Do they really need to be changed every week? I am seriously thinking of getting an electric shaver which is likely to be cost effective over time.

Same here. At 4-5 shaves per week, a mach blade lasts me more than a month.
Were it different, I'd go for cheaper alternatives.0 -

I only ever got Mach 3 blades once from Ebay. The looked identical to shop-bought ones here but there was definitely something wrong with them.
At the first time of using them they felt as scratchy as cheap disposable razors.

My gillette blades also last about a month.
I have also herad many comments about counterfeit blades on ebay0 -
The timescale does seem a bit short to me. I simply would refuse to change them that often, even if I thought it was needed! That said I do not believe that they last months... if you are getting them to last that long you probably have quite tough skin or have quite easy to cut stubble. A couple of weeks and it definitely takes me a few goes to get a clean shave and I will immediately be able to appreciate the benefit of a fresh blade.2 + 2 = 4
except for the general public when it can mean whatever they want it to.0
