O2 advice needed

Hi All,

I upgraded my iPhone 3G instore to the 4 on launch day. My old contract had a £15 loyalty discount attached to it which was carried over onto the new contract, this is stated in the receipt I received in store and again on a letter received from o2 in July.
'your extras, £15 loyalty discount on your tariff for 18 months from the date you upgraded'

All was fine for the last few months then today I received my bill and it is back up to £35.
I phoned o2 and they claim the discount has now run out and there is nothing they can do and reffered me to the store. I phoned the store and they have advised that they will look into it but doubt they will honour it claiming the advisor should not have carried the discount over.

Can anyone advise what my rights are as the discount is clearly stated on 2 documents one being the signed upgrade receipt received in store.

Thanks in advance.

Can anyone advise what my rights are if they refuse as the discount is clearly stated

Wait and see what they come up with, I would be tempted to forward the documents to O2 so they realize what the issue is. As for your rights, if you have proof, they cant bottle out of it even if they made a mistake. Wait and see....

    Thanks,

The person I spoke to said they will need to see the documents if they agree to honour the discount. I just wanted to be prepared with the right info if the did refuse.

If its a good retailer, they should accept the paperwork as proof and pay for you compensation equivalent to what you would get over the period of the contract with the discount.

If they try to wriggle out of it, just go to trading standards. I would be keen on letting o2 see the paperwork too (never hurts to get the network involved and they can chase the retailer for you sometimes).

Sorry I forgot to say it's the o2 store not a third party.

The manager from the store phoned this morning and advised would have a resolution by the end of play today but nothing. I tried phoning back but not there.
Does anyone have the CEO email to see if I get a response there?
