I will pay it off then destroy it. I want a storecard wherein I pay with cash or debit card then get points not one I have to wait for a statement
Next time look at what you are signing. That way you won't have to come on here and ask a bunch of strangers what you have done.
It's really quite simple.0 -

Nope, the Debenhams store card and the Debenhams Mastercard may be different, but they are both varieties of credit card.0 -
Ergo, colloquialisms aside, one could correctly define a Store Card as a Credit Card bit IMHO it's probably best not to as we are so familiar with the non-literal definition.
I beg to differ. I think it's important that we stop making an artificial distinction between the two, because I have seen so many people on here talk as if they are scared of credit cards, but store cards are somehow ok.
It's important that these people understand that they are being offered a credit line, subject to a credit search, and reporting to a credit reference agency. Not that that's anything to fear.0 -

Then do what you like with the card. The account will deactivate after 12 months of disuse. (You may be able to cancel the account as well if you find the customer service number on the back. Not sure about that.)0 -
Yes, you can cancel a store card by giving them a call. Most are closed after 6 months of disuse.Overdrafts transferred to MBNA £953.40/£4279.80 Car insurance (on CC) £461.98/£751.98  Bank of mum and dad £1500/£5000Total debt repaid £2915.38/£10,031.78 (29%):T Owed [STRIKE]£10,031.78[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £7400[/STRIKE] £7116.40 Pay off as much as you can in 2011 challenge £1127.60/£40000

That's a loyalty card, not a storecard.0 -
I'd like to see you purchase a jumper in Moscow with a Debenham store card.

Debenhams Storecard is operated by Santander. They allow you to take cash using the card at any till in the Debenhams store up to £250 in any 1 calendar month (I know as I know someone who got into a lot of trouble doing this every month). The interest rate is high as are the charges. Best used only in conjunction with offers and paid off when the statement arrives. they have some really good deals online with free delivery if you use the storecard0
