You might not be behind but are you in credit? You usage will go up in the winter and the payment schedule reflects this.Don't look at me, I'm irrelevant.0

a few quid in credit expect the gas to rise for the heating but the electric?0

Yes, shorter daylight hours mean more lights on for longer, more evenings in front of the TV instead of out in the garden etc.No free lunch, and no free laptop

But what is your actual yearly usage of electricity in kWh?0
-
how do you find that out?0

That is 4,587 kWh in 372 days, so annual consumption is about 4,500 kWh. A bit over average for a 3 b/r house with non-electric heating, but not unduly so. So based on 10p a unit, your monthly DD would be around £37.50pm. It's normal to build up some credit in the low consumption months to balance out the high ones in the winter.
Your previous DD of £28 was far too low.
And if the previous statements are based on estimated readings, then they won't represent your actual consumption level in that billing period. No free lunch, and no free laptop
