i find that its the opposite for me - when i was working FT - seemed to get loads more done as i had to be mega organised. Now I work flexible hours, i don't get half as much done, but have learned to live with it.0

I don't know if it helps, I try and do a room a day, not much but it seems better than all at once. I don't iron which helpsOh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0

how do these people who say they dont iron do it? do they walk around with creased clothes on? my ironing pile is never ending and i cant just fold and put stuff away! its got far too many creases despite the fact that i use the easy iron conditioner stuff.

tidying whilst the kids are growing is like shovelling snow in a snowstorm.
I'm considering a steam generator iron, so i can hang everything straight from the laundry, then 'iron' it hung up.*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

I work part time, and am studying for a PhD. I've got a 2 yr old DD as well. The £20 a week I spend on a cleaner is worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY!!! I'd rather keep my cleaner and cut something else from my budget

I guess you just need to remember that you can't do everything. Some of the suggestions already made are worth considering (packed lunches from night before, cook in batches and freeze etc).
Cut yourself some slack - you sound like you're doing an amazing job!

I don't think that all others do do it. I don't work and struggle (mind you there is only so much cleaning in me- whether I work or not!) to fit everythingin. I was talking to a friend at teh school gate a bit back and asked her how people who worked coped and she replied they don't. Things have to go and you have to prioritise. The priorities will be different for everyone.
I do find that if you tidy up and hoover, the house looks much better. I f there is only time for 1 job make it hoovering, it makes the most difference.0 -
i have a small house and too much clutter so my house always looks awful no matter how much i do :rotfl:
i don't iron though, apart from the baby's things because they seem to need it. but i know women who iron vests, sleepsuits - everything. i just do shirts and the hems and necks of t-shirts. if you hang things when they're just off the line, or give them ten minutes in the tumble dryer if they look crumpled when you get them off the line then most things are okay. apart from the baby the rest of us only have one or two things that need ironing, so when i put clothes away i put those to the bottom of the cupboard so they won't be worn again in a hurry

i use the easy iron stuff but it doesnt work. my clothes come out of the washer machine so creased. may have to try the gentler spin. i am sat at home today after working so hard that my legs and feet are physically hurting. my house is so untidy but do you know what i really dont care. i am just going to enjoy playing with the kids and do it tommorow.I'm not a "SINGLE" mum, I'm a "DOUBLE" mum!:D0

I take out the tumble dryer and fold really carefully.
If you saw my fridge, you would be horrified!!!!! it's yucky! but the worst thing is the dust in my bedroom....and to think it's mostly skin.....ewwwwww.Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0 -
Personally, I would much rather pay a cleaner for a few hours work and take on another couple of hours work myself to pay for it.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
