HTC Desire - Major Fault

I just wanted to let others know that there is a major fault with the motherboard in some HTC Desire phones . I bought a HTC Desire in July and for the past week or so it has been turning itself off and then re-booting, only it couldnt re-boot fully until the battery was taken out and then put back in.
I tried deleting some apps and doing a reset but have today being in contact with HTC who have advised of the motherboard fault and that there is currently a 5 week wait for the replacement part
I contacted orange who told me to go back to phones4u and I am surprised at how helpful they were considering I was 3 days outside of the 28 day handset exchange policy, I was expecting to have major problems with them. Now I just have to wait for them to send replacement phone now.
