Hi moneycurious, thanks for popping in. I've just spotted your diary so will have a read through and see what you're up to.
Well yesterday was not productive, I drank too much on Saturday but had a wonderful time. So although I never made it to the gym yesterday the whole day wasn't wasted. Managed to wrap some presents and organise the others whilst the children were at a party for a couple of hours.
Did try a y0ugov survey but had technical problems and missed out. Tilly tidied 50p yesterday and 73p from food account this morning.
Also managed to sell some of ds old toys for £25 so that's a huge bagful out of the way and he is having the money. I'll offer him the choice of saving some or all and see what he thinks! He knows the money is on its way so may already have a plan.
Small top up food shop later but really need to keep general spends to a minimum this week. Dh has identified one more present needed for ds but other than getting some selection boxes I do think we are done. I'm waiting on some frames to arrive so I can finish some other presents but the spending can finally stop. That said, we've not done too badly as used vouchers etc for a lot of it. I don't think we've spent much more than £150 which I am really pleased with.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
The steady tilly tidies continue. DH spent £23.90 on shopping today so overpaid the 10p plus £3 from a fb sale. Spreadsheet showing £85.89 to knock a month off but the power of compounding means it will actually only cost us about £68 to get rid of that extra month. I was hoping today's OP would have reduced the daily interest but we are still on £6.01. Once the new fixed rate kicks in April 2019 the daily interest will drop below £4 which is great!
Managed to wrap a binbag full of presents today and will do some more tomorrow but need to plan ahead to retrieve the wrapping paper before the children go to bed! :xmassmileJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
I’ve gone back to regular tilly tidies it makes such a difference to my spending habits as much as the actual payments being made. Keep going Cath, you inspire me to make more effortMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Ah thanks Newgirly, I love following your journey.
Unexpected Tilly tidy of £4 this morning as reward money hit the accounts. Interest in savings also due soon so will overpay ours and then check the childrens' accounts so I can do my monthly update of their totals (they share a savings account).
Productive morning and have framed two of dh Christmas presents. Will wrap them tobight. but have no idea where to store them so may have to put them under the tree. They're not exactly small though!
I AM going to the gym after work, it's written down now so I have to go!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Good evening. Quietly plodding here, 25p on y0ugov yesterday and 50p tilly tidy today.
A Christmas present arrived today which I was worried wouldn't arrive until after the big day. Have put it to one side and will wrap when I have some child free time next week. Have been snatching the odd 10 minutes here and there but as I've wrapped and re-hidden them so quickly I'm losing track of where they are!
Chased up car/home insurance renewal quote and managed to get £90 off the quote which actually beats last years quote. Please with that and it saves the price comparison/tcb wait. Have used the cc for now and will either pay out of savings and/or from saved c/tax payments in the new year.
Current accounts looking healthy but have a potentially expensive weekend ahead. Will minimise food spends whilst out but am expecting some spending which will enhance our enjoyment of the weekend.
Spends low so far for the month so can probably offset some of that spending.
Still need around £60 to knock off that extra month so that is the target for the month.

Am so relieved it's the weekend. We have a busy but festive weekend planned and hopefully will make some magical memories.
I've done a few financial admin jobs done this morning and have sent another OP of £6.91 which was made up of savings interest and a fb sale. Plodding is definitely the theme of the month.
Just need to strike a balance between being frivolous and frugal this weekend :rotfl:June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
