Good idea greent, we were out with a lot of the parents from school but definitely a thought for future nights.
Busy day, the time goes nowhere between school runs. Bought more paint but can't face it for a few more days! Dh had fixed the toilet seat which saved us buying a new one.
Really enjoyed the tennis earlier although DD had her piano lesson just after it started, very grateful for 8ky plus!
No real money making or saving today although we had an inexpensive dinner which will help. Popped to h0mebase bargains yesterday, that store is dangerous as I could spend a fortune! Ended up just buying z0flora, pegs and letter writing stuff for DD.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Today has been a good day. Spent a couple of hours with a friend and then pottered at home between tennis matches. Currently watching Murray waiting for DH to get back with the children from football training.
Pottered in the garden earlier, forgot to do the weeding *again* but did spend time supporting sweet peas and pinching out the shoots. Have a few blooms and hoping this will be my most successful year!
Resisted wine this evening, I've been napping the last few days and wine is likely to send me to sleep. DH's hangover still fresh in his mind so he's happy to have some kind of fizzy water too.
Had a gardener call earlier too as our lawn is damaged from the building work. I thought I'd sorted it but it has sunk. He's going to quote for some turf and mowing the lawns (not very MSE but I broke the lawnmower and it was actually damaging the lawn). Managed without a food shop today (as didn't need to go out for wine) so will do a top up shop to keep us going. We've done really well with the budget this month but since I have forgotten to plan a while week of childcare in the holidays this will get swallowed up with additional childcare fees. It pains me to spend a few hundred at this time of year even though we used to spend £6-800 a month, every month! You soon forgot don't you and spend that money on holidaysJune 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Productivity is the plan of the day. So far I have treated the lawns as advised by gardener, paid some money off cc and am just having a break from getting items ready for the charity shop and have a pile of clothes to pass down to family. I'm really struggling with fatigue at the moment and napping most days or falling g asleep by 7pm, if I keep moving I actually feel less tired.
Finished a book yesterday so will definitely spend some time reading my next book today. It's raining here which is making me want to hibernate.
Had started watching Riviera, anyone else watching it? Found it surprisingly good! Now torn between that and watching The Fall (we are a bit behind the times with that one).
Need to keep spends low this week, payday is next week but we have a lot to pay out this month between childcare and the rest of our holiday deposit. Still striving for that balance!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Morning. Don't feel like I have anything productive to post at the moment. Am plodding but we have so many expenses this month including £350 childcare costs, £125 swimming lessons. DD is also playing football at regional level so need to find money for subscription and new kit.
Who said having children is expensive?
Hurry up payday next week! It is our last £300 in to the regular saver this month and we are not going to save at that level again which will help, as will the £2400 when it matures!
Cleaner is calling today so I'm planning on moving the remaining clutter before the school run. Looking forward to coming back to a completely clean house!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -

Just popping in quickly, not a lot to update as just hanging in there until payday!
50p on y0ug0v but have also spent almost £40 for a ticket for a night out for me with the girls. It's a new friendship group and should be a fab night. It's not until September and dh encouraged me to go as I really struggle to spend money on myself (new clothes used to be bought with nectar points!)
Have been on iron tablets for 2 weeks and am still waiting for them to kick in. Have a busy weekend ahead as dd has 4 birthday parties! Fortunately she is old enough for us to leave her there and she'll have a fab time but I imagine she will be exhausted by Sunday evening.
Resisted spending at the n3xt sale (well I actually forgot about it and hadn't previewed anything) so some money saving there. List of expenses made ready to payout next week, think our wages will be in our account for a very brief time this month!June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
