  • When mine squabbled I sent them to separate rooms until they could be nice to each other. All boys though, and they seem to be less squabbly .x
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!

My washing was on radiators for last few days.

If you do get tips for stopping squabbling siblings, please let me know....

Separation is my only tactic at the moment!

My tips for squabbling are to hang in there until they are teens, then they become too lazy to squabble and just throw in the odd insult to each other now and again :rotfl:

Cath, have you thought of using a heated airer? Big layout but way more cost effective than a td or having the heating on, can be left on constantly if needs be, takes double duvets, i've had mine about 4 yrs now , its amazing.

I remember there being a discussion about them, possibly on your diary. Will have a look, thanks :)

Goes to google heated airers ......

As I'm dreading teenage years this has helped, thanks. Now just to get through the next 6 years of squabbling:rotfl:

Won't envy you with 3 teenage girls, fingers crossed they become best friends.

Try drying with a dehumidifier. especially useful if you have any pockets of damp in the house

EDITED : just had a heated airer pop on my intu email with a big reduction. That said I dont know how much they usually cost http://intu.co.uk/shop/product/1938912?utm_source=intu&utm_medium=Centre-Newsletter&utm_campaign=Mixed-Tuesday-Online-Offers-131015

Thanks OCC, that seems a really good buy. I wonder if they are costly to run?

Haven't watched any yet though - it's been plussed, so will wait until we have a few ready and waiting to watch.

We prefer to do that too, it's a long week otherwise!

Oops - not telling DD as she bought the Lakeland one today :eek::eek:.

Thought you might try to sway me into getting a TD with fancy light :)

I think that's part of the problem here, they spend all day together as play in the playroom/lounge. They need bigger bedrooms where they can have time away from each other!

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Just a quick update as nothing constructive to write in terms of money saving and making OP's! I best loiter on some more productive diaries. :)

    Monthly spends

    Food. - £170.85
    Petrol - £125.55

Seems a lot but have worked out it's 56% of budget and we are nearly half way through the month. Just feel like there is so much to pay for at the moment! Additionally I have done nothing in preparation for Christmas. I think mart1n lewi5 would kick me off the forum for not being organised as its the same day every year and hardly a surprise!

  • your monthly spend is low - well done, mine is way higher!

I too have so far not organised anything for christmas - zilch - I simply don't have time right now and can't stress over it

Hi SLM, thanks for popping in, that is a running total but hoping to come in under budget. I had plans for where I wanted to be by the end of the year financially and will be disappointed not to hit target. Still have time to redeem myself :)
