Hi everyone - more lovely comments to come back to. You are all so lovely.
Have had a lovely day today, DH returned to work immediately after Alex was born so DD has gone to nursery each day this week to give me a break. I have missed her dreadfully though and got realy upset yesterday as I thought we were 'drifting'. Anyway, today I took DD to soft play and met up with a friend and her children and we had a lovely time. Let DD think the day was about her (we actually gatecrashed a birthday party but never mind!) and we have had some lovely time together.
MSE wise, I have managed to do some surveys and BP in between naps and feeds so hopefully things are still ticking over. Had credits from TCB and Quidco totalling almost £50 so topped it up to that amount and transferred to bills account with intention of sending OP straight away but bills account didn't look in any fit shape to make it until payday so have just left it there for now. TBH although this month started off very tight due to abysmal (sp) maternity pay, we are managing pretty well (slow labour for over a week and the birth of a baby certainly curbs your spending!). TC go in next week and we both get paid the following week.
I don't know if i mentionned I applied for my dream job? It's where I spent the last 5 months of my training and a 37.5hr post (I do 30hrs) has come up and I have an interview a week on Monday!! Have been doing some prep so please keep your fingers crossed for me. Also if anyone has any tips/advice as to where I stand as am on maternity leave please let me know.
Lastly, if anyone is interested I will share my birth story.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Cath, you can certainly go for interviews during mat leave but I am not sure whether if you want to stay off, whether they have to hold the position for you, as you weren't doing it before you went on ML.
Interesting question...Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0 -
Please don't overdo it.
Fingers crossed on the job front, I'm no help on mat leave, but remember to smile in the interview!!Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Cath did you not just have a baby?! Good luck with the interview, but don't overdo it as Grateful said xx0
