Dublin - Any hotel offers, 3 nights for the price of 2

I've booked a 3 night break to Dublin in March. Usually at this time of year a lot of hotels do 3 nights for the price of 2. Does anyone know of any hotels in Dublin that are likely to do this offer. I've read a couple of threads which recommend some nice hotels for about 117Euros a night- this is for the room and includes breakfast. Do you think I should book something now or leave it and see if any offers come up.

  • I dont think you will get any 3 for 2 nights in Dublin in March .
March is quite busy in Dublin due to Saint Patrick's day and all the yanks that start to arrive at that time .
I would look at Bewleys in Ballsbridge www.bewleyshotels.com 99 euro per room (breakfast not included ) .You can book now but not pay until you arrive ,and if you find something better you can cancell at no cost .Or you could try booking Jurys Inn www.jurys.com but this may be a bit more expensive .What dates are you going ,how many people .

  • We are going on the 10th March for 3 nights and there is just me and hubby.
  • It seems you're going over a weekend so I doubt any "3 nights for 2" would apply. Prices rocket at the weekend and 117euro for a double seems a good price if it's central.

  • Thanks for the link. We are looking to get a few days away together in November without the kids and as I have one of the free Irish Ferries vouchers to use Holyhead - Dublin is looking like a good option.

As part of the offer we can't take the car so does anyone know what area we travel into, if and how we need to travel into the main town. And the best area to be looking at to stay for 2 or 3 nights that will allow us to get around without transport and see all the things we should see.

Anyone has a favourite hotel they can recommend for a romantic getaway would also be appreciated. Am I going to get something good for say no more than £300 for 3 nights including breakfast? Or do we need to allow a bit more?

We're looking at going mid November but don't go out of our way finding fabbo bargains as i'm not in a position to book for a few weeks

  • Forgot to say it doesn't have to be a weekend. Are we going to have as good a time if we save a bit of money by going mid week?

If you travel by ferry from Holyhead I think some dock in dunlagohaire which is just south of Dublin. From there you can get a bus to Dublin center or the Dart (train) - think there is a dart station just near the ferry from what I remember.

Dublin has pretty good bus service and the bus drivers are willing to call to let you know where your stop is (if you ask nicely) - or they did last time we went there!! :D

Oh yeah and the Irish sea on a ferry in bad weather isn't too nice if you have a sensitive stomach at all!! _pale_ If you can get the seacat/fast ferry then it's well worth it as its only about 90 minutes instead of about three hours!!

  • on Dublin buses you need the exact fare .
I would get the Dart train from the boat .
If you dont no your way around I would stay in the gardiner Street area .
It is central and has lots off B&Bs . I have stayed in Hazelbrook house and the Townhouse both in Gardiner Street .jurys Inn is also close by at Custom House Quay or parnell street .There is also a new Comfort Inn open in Smithfield ( a few stops on the tram ) .Last time I was in dublin I stayed in the Comfort inn .The comfort Inn where doing 3 for 2 promotions during the summer so maybe doing more later on .

Would strongly recommend the Temple Bar Hotel - book through https://www.templebarhotel.com. Really nice - i stayed here last year on a midweek 3 nights for 2 deal. Prices include breakfast. Perfect location - on the edge of the temple bar and main shopping areas. Top notch

  • Having had a bit of a look round today I think we might go for a self catering apartment. Works out much more cost effective and means we have proper facilities to do ourselves some food so we don't have to eat out all week.

The stay Dublin apartments work out really good. They've had some mixed reviews though so may email and see if they'll give me an honest view of which of their locations they recommend as being in the best state at the moment

Reading the Gogarty pub site their penthouse apartments sounded great and it said they had a one bed but on booking it doesn't look like they do so gave up on that one.

Anyone else has other suggestions just give me a shout.
