I purchased a carpet for the hall yesterday from Carpetright, to my surprise it had 20% off, I didn't even notice the " Sale " boards outside.
Carpet fitter ( independent mate ) coming this evening to lay it, quoted £30 and free tea...:D0 -
My brother purchased the most fantastic underlay I have ever felt underfoot, for his bedroom, so much so that he decided he had to have another roll for his living room. Makes me want to rip up my carpets to put this underlay down .... mmmm might yet!!!!!!! What was it, you are all asking, well it is called 'TREADAIR DREAMWALK" SEVENTH HEAVEN 11mm THICK And was bought from a company called ABBEY CARPETS at only 2.33p a square metre, (works out at 42.00 pounds plus 10.00 delivery) for 18 square yards in e-bays website WATCH OUT though there's another company selling the exact same for 110.00 yeap thats right 110.00 for the same yardage. And delivery is as quick as next day depending on what time of the day you order.
Well now you know my little secret .. but don't tell everyone as I WANT some for myself.
Let me know if you get any and what you think.0 -

This underlay cost the same in carpet underlay shop.co.uk.
Is it sensible to put different thickness in different parts of the house? i.e 11mm in bedroom 1 and lounge and 9mm everywhere else? would I get a problem with the fitters?
Oh now I am a bit confused :eek:Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

You may have to factor in trimming doors off etc the thicker you go if that is an issue for you. You can have what you want in any room no difference to fitters. 11mm will probably give you a nice luxurious feeling even more so than the 9 mm so go for it if you can afford it0

I've found it's very much down to shopping around. Vinyl that we liked the look of at Carpetright £20 m2, supposedly reduced from £42 m2 the manufacturer sells at £20m2 and my local shop down the road is selling it for £16m2. However another local store (that we would prefer to use) wouldn't entertain matching another stores price. Swings and roundabouts!0
