i don't think thats exactly what the op said, i don't see anything about the bank saying the payments were authourised, how would they know if the op authourised them or not?
Do you understand anything about Authorised Payments???
Did you read the very first post on this thread??stressedstudent wrote: »Bank refuse to help as they say I authorised the right to continous payment
Seriously toffe, Are you just on here to argue about something you know nothing about???0 -

seems to me then OP simply didn't read the T&C's of whoever he got this subscription/direct debit from and it probably mentioned some sort of weekly fee, or fee per hr as he was using the service...0 -
Well the OP hasn't been back on since to give us anymore information so I can only assume that the Thai Bride did turn up in the end and he's getting his £2500's worth, so is far to busy to come on here and give us anymore details.0
-
Given the amounts involved its likely someone meant to type £25.00 and has forgotten the . or something along those lines.
But providing the OP can prove to their bank it was only supposed to be £25......i dont see why their bank shouldnt flag it as unauthorised. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

no Apples2 i don't actually, with five bank accounts and running a business i've just had no experience of Authorising payments.
just like after trading online for nearly seven years i've also never experienced the "subscription" scam where a website offers a "lifetime one off fee for membership" then repeatedly debits your card, you can't claim to the bank that it was "unauthorised" as technically you did Authorise the company to debit your card.
i also have no understanding, (because i'm obviously a bit thick) of how this scam is so effective because banks don't get involved in disputes about how much was agreed when a customer wilingly Authorised a company to debit their card, instead opting to tell the customer they must take it up with the company themselves. given that the company is usually bogus and run by overseas scammers thats nearly always just about impossible.
no i realy don't understand whats going on here at all Apples2 but not to worry, at least your here to [STRIKE]patronise[/STRIKE] save the wold with your superior "understanding" so take it away, the floor is yours what should the op do?Did you read the very first post on this thread??
no Apples2 i didn't, i can't read, i'm just not as clever as you.:oSeriously toffe, Are you just on here to argue about something you know nothing about???
yes, that's right, i know nothing about anything but i feel sooooo much better now because your here, you little know it all you...
so go on genius say something really clever, impart your superior knowledge and "understanding" upon us and say something that might help the op........
or are you just here to argue......;)......"A wise man once told me don't argue with fools because people from a distance can't tell who is who"........0 -

From what I have seen in your rant, you are not sufficiently armed to get into an argument.
I note you haven't justified anything, you have simply ranted that you are (self proclaimed) knowledgeable about authorising payments.
You comments prior to this showed the complete opposite.
I think my closing comment on my earlier post was an accurate description.0 -

i'm not sure why you felt the need to add that e in brackets to my nick, if it was just tp prove you can spell toffee then well done you :T
if it was an attempt to point out that the spelling of toffee used in my nick is wrong, in an attempt to paint me as being unable to spell toffee, you should probably note that the misspelling is a deliberate one because the nick toffee (correct spelling) was already taken......."A wise man once told me don't argue with fools because people from a distance can't tell who is who"........0 -
