Tickets sent recorded delivery not arrived

Hi,
I won some theme park tickets that are specifically for tomorrows date a week ago. The seller posted them 6 days ago by recorded delivery but they have not arrived. The seller kindly gave me the ref no when I emailed 3 days after winning and I have been ringing my local sorting office who say the system is just saying the item was posted last Thursday, PO details and that it is in the system, but does not tell them where it is, delivery address etc and it is not with them. Royal Mail have explained that it is only registered delivery that guarantees delivery and that in the event of non-delivery the seller has to wait 15 days before putting in a claim. If it does not arrive tomorrow, what is the position, would I be entitled to a refund?

any decent seller would refund you
  • Unfortuantly the seller has sent them the wrong service to put a claim in with Royal Mail

Recorded/Signed For DOES NOT cover for cash, jewellery, tickets & vouchers.

If they are decent then they will refund you, fingers crossed for you!

Thank you for your reply. I am sure the seller is not at fault, as the RM system says they were posted and she may well offer me a refund, but just checking my position, as the tickets will be of no use to me if they arrive after tomorrow.
  • This is down to Royal Mail being very slow but one thinks because of the bank holiday and the time sensitive tickets, the seller should have sent them via a guaranteed service really. After tomorrow the tickets are not fit for purpose so I think you are entitled to a full refund if you don't get them.

Why does everyone "think" the OP would be entitle to a refund? There are countless posts on this subject. A refund is guaranteed.
  • It might be worth checking at your local delivery office in case they are awaiting collection.

Thank you macfly. I did do a word search, but after going back a few pages, reading posts could not see anything about a guaranteed refund and similar on ebay.

If they're specifically for tomorrow, then you might as well open an "item not received" claim with paypal straight away (unless your post arrives early enough tomorrow before you would be scheduled to leave for the theme park, then it would be worth waiting one more day).

Make sure you put in the dispute that the tickets were for TOMORROW only.

It's not up to you to claim from RM - the seller has to do that. Hopefully the seller will refund you straight away, but if not, paypal will refund you.

(the seller will get nothing from RM, as tickets are not covered by recorded delivery)
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Don't do that. It is possible they will still arrive. If they do, after the event, tracking may show them as delivered. You would lose an item not received claim, irrespective of the fact they are no use. Leave it, you have a few more weeks in which to claim.
