What makes you believe such deals exist ? and if so, why wouldn't everyone take advantage thus making them 'standard' deals ?

Standard options would be to look at the non-main stream airlines as they are most likely cheaper. However, the lower cost is likely to come with a far reduced service - for example AirAsiaX use the same business seat as many main stream carriers, but offer it without any of the usual business class extras (ie lounge, better food, better alcohol).

The other option is to consider using a major carrier but starting the journey at one of their outstations. For example you can open up attractive long haul business class flights with BA if you start your journey at a european outstation (many people use Amsterdam), then fly back to London and onto your long haul journey. Or, start from London and fly via Vienna with SWISS for an excellent carrier.

Final suggestion is using miles to upgrade to business class if you have enough credit in a given scheme.

Can you give some dates, destinations and prices you've found already as a bit of a benchmark ?

I think we're all looking for cheaper flights... be they economy or biz class.

I've found the only time you get a "good deal" on biz class flights is where economy is so over-priced, I once booked a trip to Cyprus at last minute with family and BA wanted something like £800 for economy return, but Cyprus Airlines were offering biz class for £575 or something like that.

IF you do find a site that offers the holy grail, let us know... I have a friend in south africa who i'd love to see, but don't know i can stand 10 hours in economy!!

Thank you for the suggestions..........keep them coming. There seem to be plenty of sites to help you get cheaper economy seats but not many to help with biz seats. My wife refuses to fly economy whilst i lord it in the front, i'd like to know how john mccrirrick gets the booby to accept this arrangement.

Select business or first in the options and away you go! LON will include all London airports. Also tick the search nearby airports. Sometimes it may be cheaper to fly from a regional airport.

95% of the time it will be cheaper to fly via another hub.

If you want a cheaper BA ticket, look to start in Italy or another European country. For Example Milan-LHR-SFO + return 1/11 to 7/11 is €2024, same dates LHR-SFO + return is £2400!

You can go to Italy, have a nice weekend, stopover for a few weeks in the UK then go on to SFO.
  • sometimes it is cheaper to do multi-city than to do a straight return...

Some 'cheap' business class flights can be on poor airlines and you'd be better off in Premium Economy on a special offer fare from BA, Virgin, Qantas, AirNZ(Skycouch) or Eva Air.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.
  • I used EVA Air Premium Economy a few years ago and wasn't very impressed, I also thought the seats were uncomfortable. I'm off to Brisbane tomorrow flying Emirates Business class. Got a good deal through Trailfinders.
