Beanie - I had the same problem with Lils...I actually took the phone off her and got her a PAYG sim....which worked out cheaper than paying for the bills she ran up. Who is she with? Can you ring the supplier up and tell them the problem and ask that they switch the phone off when it gets to a certain point.

Also how long has he got to run on the contract. There are some good deals to be had now on contracts and I have Lils back on a contract but its unlimited minutes and unlimited txts with T-mobile.

Beanie, hugs hun. Can he not contribute towards the bill?

We're all on PAYG for that same reason. DD spends her credit almost instantly, and would run up a huge bill. DS is a bit like me, his £10 has lasted him months. In fact, I took his phone with me to Bunny's last week, because I've only got about 20p on mine :o

Buffy, I often wish the same thing hun. Once or twice a year just isnt enough friend time :(

My Ds has a phone bill for £104 for a month & the billing period is not over yet.
Im a tad upset to say the least.
Word of advice~Do not ever ever get your child a contract phone.
I feel sick as I have no idea where the money will come from.Gaaaahhhhh.
I dont have it & neither does he.

Doe he have anything he can sell?

Anyone HE can do jobs for?

def ring the people and see if he can have a cut off point.

I have 300 minutes, 300 texts and unlimited internet on t mobile for 20.00 a month on contract.

I would be SO furious, I'd be selling his bed on bloody e bay!

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

    Hello all

Eeeeek Beannie - that's not good - how's he run up such a big bill? Both DD's are on contracts that are 200 mins and unlimited texts (fair useage is 3000) per month for £10....they're the rolling 30 day ones that we can end at any time. They both know that their phones are confiscated if they go over their minutes/texts (it's easy enough for them to check)...and they don't get the phone back until the bill is cleared.

Buffy - I do worry about you x Hope everything is ok.

Sally - That's utter pants about your wages, I can't understand how any one can run a business and forget to pay their staff! Shows a complete lack of care/understanding on her part. Glad you had a nice day with B though, I'd like to go to Alice in Wonderland land.

LMC - So pleased for your OH about the job (pleased for you too as it saves your from worrying)

Wee Jo - Where have you gone? Are you lurking?

Sally, sorry to hear you're having problems hun. Hope you get the boiler sorted soon and fingers crossed the lack of wages is a genuine oversight. Alice in Wonderland land sounds fab, I'd like to go.

LMC, well done to your OH on getting the job.

Pooky, you know the other day, you said bones should be cracked and roasted before making stock from them? How do you crack them? We used a hammer and chisel yesterday, and DD loved it, but I'm now 2 plates less than I was.

sigh.......after 8 months on the market, my ex has accepted an offer on his house. I'm a bit upset really, I lived there for 11 years and obviously still go back a few days a week for Charlie. He's decided to rent as he's slowly building a little bit of a mix of part time jobs and wants to stay fairly local and he feels quite positive about the chance to rent somewhere a bit rural, he's already seen something. He feels it's the best thing - he's awful with money and the debt has piled on over the last year since he was made redundant. He says it will mean he can be debt free and start again with a small amount of money.

He didn't really want to go back to his Mum's house at 45 and to his credit he said he didn't want me to lose virtually all contact with Charlie as she lives about 50 miles away although I said he had to do what was right for him as I knew Charlie would always be loved. Sounds like it might be a quick sale.

I just wish he'd pushed himself 6 months ago to get some part time bits and pieces but I know it's me being selfish because its my 'old house' and for the main I was very happy there. I don't think he would ever have got to a debt free situation though even with a good job coming his way, he can't stop buying expensive food/wine etc so I think he would have just had the debt forever.

    Lol @ the plates!

Cracking the larger bones releases the marrow from inside but if the bone's already but cut it will be able to get out anyway....I've got a pair of mole grips for the tricky ones. You can always roast them off as they are and crack them when the bones are a bit more brittle.

These were all chicken thigh bones. I assumed they's just snap, but they're really quite tough arent they

To be fair, the kids really enjoyed doing it. I sat here listening to the quite regular sound of the hammer, then the crack of the bone.....then the smashing sound followed by the audible gasp from DD :rotfl:

*goes off to google mole grips :o
