baby versus debt

I was saying to my partner this morning that if in his job they could let him work part time it would be good because our hours overlap slightly so this would mean we could share the childcare. He said he doesnt know anyone else there that does that so they probably wouldnt let him.
Hopw about an alternative explaination... perhaps no one has asked.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

Landy Andy and property advert... Oh seriously... you want her to place the speed of her repayments above a human life? I hope I never get sick and need a lift to hospital from either of you!
She absolutly can afford a baby and have £200 p/m spare to repay her creditors. And that's before you factor in the advice she has been given about how to free up even more disposable.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.

If you can afford children have them. If you can't don't.
She can afford to have them not just now. She will probably be debt free at the rate they are going in, I'm guessing, about 8 years by which time she will be 44 and will have about a 3% chance of getting pregnant.
Property Advert - It didn't take them 'years' to pay off £5k, it took a few years - that is probably 2 or 3. They can have a child and reduce their debt. Who are you to say what they will be doing in the future - God? Mystic Meg?
Tell you what, until recently I was a working person earning a good salary with no kids. Soon I expect to be working again - how's about I give them my 'baby allocation' as I haven't used it.
I really hope you guys don't get to a stage in your life where you really want kids and find out you have a low sperm count or your partner has endometriosis, because it really sucks.

i've not read all the replies, but what would you do if you got pregant now when you weren't expecting? You would still have the debt and you would find a way to manage them, so my opinion is have a baby when it is right for you - not right for the debt!
If you were made redundant then the creditors would have to accept a change in circumstance, the same with an addition to your family. Remember, it's your life you need to think about, not theirs!Cats don't have owners - they have staff!!

everyone has the right to choose for themselves when they want a family. you cant just say they cant coz there in debt, as for been a burden thats not true, they work they pay there taxes there still going to work after the child is born they are entitled to tax creidts like anyone else. you want to look in the papers and see those that claim for ten kids and more and never worked in there lives and the state keeps them. years a go people managed to raise big families and they didnt have taxes credits. I just think you should go for it take it from someone who tried for 12 years and knows the pain of not being able to have them.
Good luck and keep posting xx:T0 -
