hi MSE's
i applied to national flyers afew weeks ago and ive just recieved an email saying i can start work right away i just need to pay £35 at a paypoint which is refundable and that its just to cover the cost of a gps handheld monitor and uniform.
pennies at tight so im dubious about paying this start up fee for it to turn out to be a scam,so has any of you ever dealt with them?
thanks.

I applied with them a while back and got an email last night asking for a scan of my passport. My passport has expired and I'm only about 10 in the photo so I tried to call to ask if I could send scans of my national insurance numbercard and my European health insurance card. Nobody answered any of the 4 times I called on a Thursday morning and they're business seems a bit too good to be true (double your business in a week or double your money back).
I can't say that it's a scam for sure but I wouldn't get your hopes up. I did, not so optimistic now.0 -
Hi,
exact same situation - i sent scan of expired passport and they oked this.
Email - 'youve got the job, send £35 to us etc..'
Yesterday (fri) payed £35 at paypoint
Today 1300 got a email saying following
PAYMENT PROBLEMS: Refund Request!
Due to a security problem with our payment processor, recent PayPoint payments made by customers have been frozen.
Don't worry; your money is still safe!
However, we advise you to request a refund immediately from our merchant as it may be some time before the matter is resolved at our end.
You'll need to find the receipt which you received when you made a payment at the PayPoint. You'll also need to provide the merchant with your name and address in order to receive a refund.
The two important numbers you'll need to provide the merchant are your serial number (9 digits) and transaction number (4 digits). These can all be found on your receipt.
They look like this: SN 025103040 TXN 1234
We have supplied you with an email template which you can use to request a refund. Please make sure you read the email, and add your own correct details before you send the email.

Same here! I've done a little research on the company too, and their address at the bottom of the emails is incorrect. There isn't actually an Old Station Road in Cawston, Norwich. However, there is an Old Station Yard, and in all honesty it doesnt look like the sort of place for an HQ of flyer distribution would be based.
Yes the whole thing is really suspiscious, i can't get through on the phone either - just get put on hold and since its an 0843 number charged at 5p/min there is no way im gonna hang around.0 -

Well, i emailed nationalflyers with the following..
and i got this reply..My bank says the payment went through, so my money has obviously gone
somewhere, but now im not sure where.
I've contacted paypoint about this, as you can imagine im not happy about
giving out further details including the SN and TXN off the reciept to a
company whom i've never heard of before (clear-pay.co.uk) and im assuming i
would have to give out bank account details in order to recieve my refund?
What happens if i dont persue the refund and just wait for you to get your
systems sorted, would that work too?
On a side note, could you tell me why i can't find your company on
googlemaps? There is no Station Road in Cawston, Norwich, just a Station
Yard, is there a mistake?Clear Pay is our payment processor.
We are trying our hardest to rectify the mistake, but it could take up to 28
days.
If you want a refund, I'd advise you to request a cheque - then it can be
posted to you without having to hand over any details to anyone.
Otherwise the money will go more than likely be kept by the payment
processor.

If you do a "who is" lookup on the domain, it does show the address as being Old Station Yard:

Ooh, they are a bit naughty:

I wouldn't deal with this company for a whole host of reasons.
Edit: If you read the rest of that thread linked to above, it sounds like this company is now defunct.
Edit: If you red the whole of that thread it seems that the problems were caused by a rather dodgy web-design company, so I retract my earlier statements.:A0 -
Look people, I don't wish to sound rude, but it really looks like you've been scammed. Don't mess around and give them time to vanish with the money - call the police *now*. Make sure it is formerly reported. I doubt you'll get your money back, but you may shut them down before they screw anyone else.
Can I ask - where was their original add / how did they come to your attention?
Just adding in:DOMAIN REGISTERED: Registered on: 03-Jun-2010
BUT COMPANY THAT REGISTERED IT:
NATIONAL DISTRIBUTION SERVICES LTD UK Limited Company number: 6019965
STRUCK OFF AND DISSOLVED Dissolved 09/03/2010
This is clearly deception with criminal intent IMHO, call the police.0 -

I stress this information is *all* out there in the public domain - there is also a suggestion that he may be of traveller/gipsy origin - so I would follow what I said and go straight to the police.
Hope this is helpful to you in some way.0
