Joint Contract?

I have a contract phone on a joint contract, both phones were taken out in my exs name and the dd comes out of my account. I want to split the contract between us so that we each have our own one but can this be done? I wouldn't pass a credit check, but they will be able to see that I have been paying both phones from my account without bouncing one month for the last three years.

I don't think that would work, because it's currently your ex that is liable should the DD fail, not you. Why are you paying both though-I don't get it?

No, because it's not your account it's your exes. Could you split the account and take yours on a sim only basis (assuming that you're out of commitment), the sim only deals are a much lighter touch from a credit check point of view

Actually it's not a joint contract at all.

It's in your Exes name, who pays the bills is irrelevant. You'll be starting from new. as others have said why continue this your only helping build his credit rating now not yours, even if you split on good terms it would make sense to move the bills to his name, even if it means you have to direct debit him the month each month.

At the moment he could run up an excessive bill and you'd not know until a large sum left your bank account.
