Sorry to hear this has happened to you.
The same exact thing happened to me last month when on my payday, £560 was taken from my account in numerous transactions between midnight and 5am. I found out the next day that it was Cash Genie and Swift Money who had taken the money so I rang them to ask why they had done this seeing as I was paying them back already in instalments through my payplan DMP, they just fobbed me off by saying I'd signed the agreement where the terms and conditions stated that at any point they would be entitled to claim the full balance from the account whose details I had submitted on applying for the loans. So I rang my bank, Santander, and raised a dispute over the transactions.
At first Sanatander came up with all sorts of excuses saying that the transactions had been pre-authrised and that even though I'd cancelled my cards a few days prior to being paid my wages, the transactions would have gone through regardless. It turned out that they actually messed up when I asked for my card to be cancelled and my card had remained active all the while. This led to further transactions going through to Swift Money for several days and that's when i really lost my rag.
I phoned Santander about 3 times a day for the last 4 weeks to get this mess resolved and for each call there was a different version of events from Santander, sometimes they said the dispute would take 2 days, then it was 21 days, then 28 and all manner of other inconsitencies which only served to convince me that none of them had a clue of what they were doing.
I made it clear to them that for 4 weeks I had been without the £700 I needed for my rent, bills and living expenses and that nothing short of the full £700 and £350 compensation would come even close to satisfying my dispute.
Today they have refunded the final amount of £450 to me but as of yet no compensation. Whilst I'm glad I've finally got my money back, I'm still angry that Santander allowed this to happen and took so long to make up for something they have effectively admitted was their mistake. I'm not giving up, they still need to compensate me.
On another note, having logged on to the Cash Genie site, they are showing my debt to them as cleared in full so I'm assuming the refund Santander gave me has come from Santander and not claimed back from Cash Genie. therefore, should I contact payplan and tell them to stop sending payments to Cash Genie?
horrible state of affairs and this month has been a nightmare. I've read about this happening to lots of other people and whilst I suppose it is fair enough to say that these people should never have borrowed off cash Genie in the first place if they were unable to repay on the agreed date, the fact that Cash Genie use such underhand tactics to reclaim their money such as sending you emails under the name of another payday lender tempting people into taking out further loans only to use the bank details submitted to fleece their accounts is a very low blow indeed.
I'm just glad I'm out of it now and wish anyone else in a similar predicament all the best luck to get out of it too.jusqu'ici tout va bien0 -

Yes definitely let Payplan know what's happened because I'm sure Cash Genie won't and will just keep accepting the money regardless. They have already shown what dishonest and underhand tactics they use.0
