Caution! Carter Forbes!
So i'm ringing round my creditors/dca's to make my monthly payements for the ones i have set standing orders up for.
I get to carter forbes who are acting on behalf of cash genie ltd to make my 1st payment of £10, they take the payment all went through fine. I ring another creditor to make a payment and the card is declined. THats strange i thought. Cash Genie/ Carter Forbes have only taken an extra £370 in 4 seperate payments out once they had got hold of my account details.
Natwest cant stop the payments (useless) and carter forbes wont refund them! So i've been wiped out!
Just though i would give people a friendly warning.

Natwest damn well can get the money back if they try. Abbey tried that bollarks with me back when they had in branch phones, after hours of phone calls at their expense they backed down and refunded the unauthorized payments.Barclaycard 3800

Agreed! Make your feelings known and insist on some assistance in this matter of THEFT.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

see if their calls are recorded and request a copy, they make a formal complaint0

DCA calls aren't ever recorded when it comes to the DCA being in the wrong and their complaints proceedure is usually worse than useless. He's not going to recover his stolen money by complaining to them, they are sub-human bottom feeders.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE I would not let this one go complain to the bank until you get the answer you want look as TC etc0

Hi James
I really feel for you.
While I absolutely agree with everyone who has responded I'm afraid you have learned a lesson the harshest way possible, lesson being never trust a DCA with any financial information. This is why common advice is to set up standing orders and not use debit cards etc to make payments.
Its amazing the number of people who do not think companies could behave in such an underhand way so thank you for this timely reminder to everyone that we should always be on our guard.
Even if there are remedies open to you (legal, pester your bank etc) the most urgent thing right now is to protect yourself from further 'finger-dipping' of your account and cancel your card. I would even suggest to go as far as opening another current account and having your wages paid into this to be absolutely sure these scumbags have no access to your money.
Trying to be positive - has the amount these unmentionables taken cleared your debt? Not much consolation I know if it has.
Second no matter how desperate try not borrow more money to get you to next payday it will only make matters worse. Sell stuff if you need to, but don't go there!
In terms of remedies it may be worth contacting the local trading standards for these scumbags and asking to raise a formal complaint (make it clear you are not asking for advice) and also the OFT.
Not things that are going to get your money back short term but may just put them spotlight on these scumbags and make them uncomforable enough to hand your money back.
I can only say good luck

All because someone has your card details doesn't mean all there transactions are authorised, these need to goto the bank and be lodged as unauthorised transactions and get the funds recovered.
Its for this reason that debit card and DD payments are not suggested. It must always be done by standing order so you are in control.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
