Wannabe WAG in £85K Debt

I bet she's had more fun in the last 10 years than most of the savers for sure.
I don't think she has, there is such a thing as moderation and TBH how fun could a 4.5k coat be, its just a coat.
My husband is a bit like this, he likes buying 'stuff' for the sake of it. He is the type f person who goes to tesco for bread and milk and comes back with bread, milk, some cakes, crayons for the kids, 3 CD's and a computer game. totally no need in it and he has a decent amount of debt that he seemed to accumulate at university but has no idea on what
I on the other hand am quite debt adverse, I have my mortgage and 0% cc that has a few hundered pounds on. In the past I have had the holidays abroad, had the newer cars and the more memorable experiences. Yep I don't have ££££ in the bank, mostly because i'm sinking it into my mortgage and paying more of the house hold costs to free up OH's income so he can blitz his debt once and for all.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
She can also put the £500 she probably received from The Sun towards the debt too.
Is that really all The Sun pays? She must have been desperate for the money, I guess. One more shopping fix for her, then she fills in the forms. Such a sad soul.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
It's ok, she is borrowing to invest. When she marries a rich man attracted by her glamorous lifestyle she'll be sorted.0

If she's a WAG, then I'm a !!!!!! star...
Definitely has insecurity issues, needs to lower her sights a bit and maybe she'll have a happy life.
I wonder if originally she was the office cleaner, she gets screwed by the boss and he then promotes her to an admin assistant?0 -
"Insecurity issues" my backside!
It's about time we dropped this discredited psychobabble and got back to some plain speaking. She is an irresponsible idiot who has almost certainly gone as far down this path as she has because she has been allowed to make excuses for her idiocy and never had to face the consequences of it.
Sadly, the law has been reframed by other believers in psychobabble, so she will still not properly reap the consequences of her own behaviour. It's time they were brought to account for the societal damage they have done, too.
Behaviour has consequences. It's really quite a simple thing to understand.0 -

Isn't 'successful and respected WAG' a bit of an oxymoron?
In all seriousness, are there any of the famous WAGs that you'd hold up as role models for young women? Can't think of any of the top of my head really. Maybe Aby Clancy? But I'm sure she was found snorting coke somewhere one a upon a time wasn't she? I'm not saying this is a truly awful thing, but maybe takes you out of the 'respected' catgory.0 -

How is that 'psychobabble'? It's a bit annoying when you say anything other than 'throw her in debtors prison', you get labeled as sprouting psychobabble.
She is a moron and she is idiotic. She's also irresponsible and doesn't sound like a very nice person. I've already stated that I think she should spend the rest of her working life repaying every single penny.
However, you start to get rid of stuff like this by thinking about the cause and as well as what the punishment should be. She said that her parents never even owned a credit card, so she obviously had a good financial upbringing. The reason, I would bet, for this spending spree is a real insecurity about her life coupled with the fact that dumb and irresponsible financial companies were happy to fuel her lifestyle. The celebrity culture in this country is downright weird and means that when you mix it with people who are already idiots you get a situation like this.
Don't get me started on the role credit card companies should be playing in issues such as this. They knew her income was £25,000 and they can see that she's buying handbags for £1,700. Someone should have had a word in her ear.Behaviour has consequences. It's really quite a simple thing to understand.
Can you point out anywhere in my post where I stated she shouldn't have to face consequences for her behaviour?0 -

I think Coleen has certainly made the most of her marriage to Rooney, good luck to her, Louise also seemed OK.'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0
