You'll probably get more for your money next year, and it's probably even cheaper in America, but you could wait forever to buy the best thing at the best price.
One thing to note, you are going to need a lot of memory cards to store pictures at that resolution, or some means of sending tham home, saving to hard disk, this will knock the price of the camera up..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Certainly a 10 megapixel camera should get 229 photos on a 1/2 gig card. You can get portable hard drives with a built in battery and card reader - about £80 for one without a screen and about £160 for one with a screen to view them - so when the card is full you just put it all to the HD and then format the card and start again.
At reasonable quality you should be able to do prints up to 24" x 18' though the better hi-res printing of 300 dpi would be 12" x 9" (if my maths is correct)All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

Thanks so much to everyone for their advice, can you please explain how you work out the size of prints I can print? What do you consider reasonable quality. As someone who has been taking snaps with a 3mp camera for the last couple of years, this is now soooo addictive I would love to get some really special pics so any more ideas would be more than welcome.0
