Solventsoon and CW18, both a big help indeed. I have decided to class a NSD as nothing coming out of any purse or bank account for that whole day.I think the idea of doing the spending all in one day is great idea. I see you both are like me, have a weaknesss for supermarkets, its a shame my weakness' dont stop there, mine include clothes and Boots, (why is everything so shiny in there!)
I was having a look at the 3 for 2 christmas items today, they all look great, i think i need to get a start on that.
Are there any good threads on this site for good christmas planning, or am i too far ahead?

And I've not yet decided whether working in one tempts me more or encourages me to stay out of them in my free time unknown.gif

Being in a supermarket at least 5 days a week (more if I get extra hours over a weekend) probably isn't the best of things for a shopping addict who's trying to lose that habit as well as lose weight rolleyes2.gif

As for your next bike, if you're going for a new modern classic ... surely not an Enfield? Maybe a Triumph Scrambler/Bonneville/Thruxton? If I had all the money in the world and was buying a new cafe racer I'd get a new Norton - amazing bikes! One of my mates had a couple or so of BSA's - he restored them beautifully ... I wouldn't mind one of those in my vitural garage too!

LMAO yeah, was it that big a give away? Will be saving for the 500 Enfield Classic. In my defence I have been poorly, right now I'm dr*ving a c*r (I can hardly bring myself to type it) because I'm just not reliably well enough to ride... At least not a serious bike anyway, the ickle tiny weighs-nothing Enfield would still be do-able. I used to have a Suzuki GN250 as a stand-by bike, for days when I couldn't hold the leviathan of an RF900R upright at the lights. I loved that GN, bless her. Eventually though no amount of gun gum would get her through another MOT, it was a sad day indeed, may she rust in peace. The RF900R had to go to fund the c*r... bitter? Moi? Oh h*ll yes!!

When I looked around for something to replace the GN I realised the only real contender was the Enfield. I wanted 20-30 brake horse power and no noticable weight. I found a lot of bikes that were pretending to be bigger things, almost appologetically (the Yamaha 535 Virago, the Kawasaki 250 Ninja) but nothing that was meant to be what it was... Except the Enfield... It's utterly gutless and it does not give a flying fork!

So, laugh all you like, I am getting an Enfield and I don't care! It positively demands red lippy and a headscarf (and can be fitted up with a nice Watsonian sidecar just like Wallace and Gromit if needs be) ROFL :rotfl:

Right I'm off to eBay to oggle headscarfs (no buying though, today is gonna be an NSD... probably). :money:
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

Well done on the weight loss Cheryl - you're doing fab! Have you thought about doing a car boot with your old clothes and make a little £ back in true MSE style?

I haven't ever really dieted and have been a pretty constant size for years but I have noticed that since I started exercising a few years ago, my back has broadened and I think I have 'put on weight' but it must me muscle mass as everything I prev owned still fits how it did previously (oh, and I'm deff more toned which is great :T)

Fenna, welcome to the thread. Sounds like your rules are quite like mine, I don't count direct debits (even though these are part of my monthly budget) but do count any cash or card spends. I work in a town centre so the odd £ here and there at lunchtime was really my downfall.

I've already started Xmas planning (chilli jam and winter chutney for a number of people) and have bought a couple of gifts so you're deff not to early to start planning. I recently joined this thread

BTW a housebrick inthe handbag might be handy for all the rude shoppers!;)

Ohhh - good idea! I never thought of that... must add that to the list of 'reasons why it is necessary for me to carry a housebrick at all times' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Anyone up for a bit of pirating???

If so, spoon is reborn as Mad Dog Bonney

Part crazy, part mangy, all rabid, I'm the pirate all the others fear might just snap soon. I can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr! Arr me hearties!!! :D:D

Geebee put this link on the NTN thread, so if anyone wants to join in and have their own pirate name, have a play:D:D

Only ever done one, and barely covered my pitch fee :(

But I can't really afford to donate to charities these days, so looking at the clothes to the shop as being a way of making up for that :)
