stay clear of rovers had mine 6 days and head gasket gone today!!!
Like waynedance said, Rover diesels are some of the most reliable set of wheels you can get for very little dosh.
Petrol rovers are a different beast and should be avoided unless you are willing to replace the HG.Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

Older (Pre 2006) Civic model has bags of room inside and is a very practical family car with decent size boot and plenty of rear leg room.
Only thing wouldn't be sure about is 6ft 5 driver room as I am just under 6ft but have no probs driving it
Wife has the 1.6 SE auto model and no issues at all over past year and half we have had it. Won't be cheap cheap tax and insurance is only downside I can see but get quotes beforehand. Also check out baby seats as there aren't manty that fit properly in the Honda's that age apparently (we had problems finding right one)0
