Hmmmm, problem is if I bought one I'd be the exception to the rule and get the lemon.
My SIL has the latest Prius as a company car, he had no choice as his employers need to be seen to be green.
It's a fair enough car, but the issue that's just coming to light struck us immediately he took delivery, the darn things are so silent at low speed they are lethal to pedestrians. No wonder they are now adding artificial noise:D
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I would think that 12 years without any horror stories tellsyou all you need to know about the battery pack longevfty.

How useful are the batteries though? I was shown a 2008 Prius (newer plug-in one) which now had a useful range of about 8 miles on the battery....

If the hybrid tech is exhausted then what's the point (unless you're dodging the congestion charge, in which case I salute you :rotfl:)
  • Arghhhh, now the choice is getting harder! I've thought I want a car a max of 2 years old...given work are providing the loan, it's much easier to get a newer cr and not have to have cjecked inside out etc!

As for mileage, at the moment I', guessing it'll be around 10k a year...have only just moved closer to work so not used to the short commute just yet! And as most of my journey's are short, petrol is the best choice. Any long journey's for mork mean I have to have a hire car, so a smaller engine than my current 1.9 would be fine. I hate these decisions, think the next few weeks will involve lots of test drives and window shopping! :D

10K pa is probably around the break point between petrol and diesel. Why do you think petrol is better for short journeys?
