Very true. I think some take this to ridiculous extremes of course but others such as Mr. Glitter come to regret casual exposure of personal data. But dont forget to remove the hard drive as you dont want other being able to get your data!
Regarding the bit that fell off - my vote goes to "shorting link" or jumper as I suspect most call them.0 -
What were you using to clean the inside?:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0

Taking a 7 year old PC to a "PC Doc" is always a very unwise move, I hope you set him a firm limit as if he spends/is going to cost you any more than about £15-£20 total you'll have spent far more than the PC is worth.
Tbh even for that amount you could probably pick up a PC twice as powerful as the one you had and simply hook up your old hard drive.
tbh I think your best move would be to urgently get your PC back from this 'PC Doc' before you at best run up a large and completly pointless bill or end up with yyour PC being damaged/all your data being destroyed by a dodgy 'repair' attempt.0 -
Might be something that "fell in". As suggested a shorting link, sometimes these are not used just spares in case you do what to link two pins together, temporarily.
Get it back as not worth your cash having it repaired. Back up your data and reinstall the operating system, is the fastest / free recovery after 7 years use. Hope its not too much. Should have asked here first.0 -

Excuse me; Is this a piece of your brain?
