Sorry, i must be the thickest person but i dont really know what a "browser" is?
So, im on Sky Broadband, the laptop is an acer aspire 5332, ive got Norton Gold installed? does that give you an answer? ta
Your web browser is the program that you use to surf the web with, so probably Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome?
Since your header was 'browsing history' I thought the link was clear.
Like lindabea, my money is also on IE.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
You could install Webroot Window Washer. I have used it for many years now. It cleans out all the "rubbish" when you start or close down or you can do it manually. www.webrooot.com0

(I do mean to be cheeky, do take this personally...) if you don't know what a 'browser' is then you really should not be shopping or entering card information online.0

I agree to a certain extent with KimYeovil. The internet is not necessarily a friendly place for those that aren't aware of the nasty booby traps laid by those with malcontent in their heart. Not knowing the basics is like crossing the road on your own as a four year old - not wise.
Having said that, for your current predicament, I'd echo downloading and running CCleaner. It will delete all your (and presumably your husband's) history and also general clear unwanted files from your system.0 -
As others have said, CCleaner is the way to go.

Clicking on the Options tab>Cookies button after a browsing session reveals the following window:-
If you wish, you can keep login cookies, for example, to save you the hassle of completing user details and passwords for forums and the like. Cookies that you wish to save should be highlighted by clicking on, then moved from the left to the right pane using the central arrows.
The cookies which remain in the left pane will be wiped when you choose the Cleaner tab and click on Run cleaner.0 -

hello, Suzyp
Your browsing History will continue to show up under the address bar as a part of the IE8's AutoComplete feature. However, you can keep your History from being stored in AutoComplete by following these instructions
>clicking Tools
--> Internet Options
--> Content Tab (from the tabs across the top)
--> and Settings for AutoComplete.
There you can manage what shows up in your address bar. To make sure that your History is excluded, just make sure that the box next to History is not selected.
You need to clear the AutoComplete cache.
--> Open Internet Explorer
--> Click the Tools menu and then Internet Options.
--> Within the Internet Options window, click the content tab.
-->Click the Auto complete button.
-->Within this window you can click Clear forms to clear all form data except for passwords and/or click Clear Passwords to clear the passwords. In addition to clearing these fields, if you do not want Internet Explorer to save this data in the future, you may uncheck any of the available boxes in this window.
Hope that helps
Rick

Index.dat Files need clearing out to really get rid of your browsing history I believe.
