im just selling the one that lens... im guessing the one that came with but cant remember now... it's a Nikon 'Zoom-Nikkor 28-80mm f/3.3-f/5.6 G'
If that's new at Jacobs then I might give them a call and see how much they'll offer me for it... Do places like Jessops/Jacobs still sell second hand stuff?0 -
They do sell second hand stuff, I think Jacobs does more - they've got a decent display cabinet in their big store in london.
I buy second hand Olympus lenses (for my Panasonic digi SLR) and i tend to get them from this shop - http://www.yorkcameras.co.uk/
They're selling a Nikon F80 + 28~80 f3.5~5.6D lens for £99 ... i just don't think you're going to get much for your camera really.0 -
If your digital kit is Nikon, then you should be able to use the lens from your 35mm on it. Just remember though that when using 'full frame' (35mm film) lenses, the magnification is 1.8x greater than the AFC-s DSLR lenses used on non-full frame cameras. So a 100mm 35mm lens equates to 180mm when attached to an AFCS camera (usually anything under 18M/p).
All Nikon Nikkor Zoom AF lenses from 1986 on are capable of embedding lens settings into the EXIF system used on modern digital cameras.
It is worth noting that Sony can use ANY Minolta AF mount lenses from 1981 on.
Canon DSLRs on the other hand, only fully-work with EOS2 lenses, EOS1 (the original lens) will only work with manual focus.Never Knowingly Understood.

I still use 35mm- I find it hard to beat for B/W work, plus it's a very handy backup which isn't as sore on batteries as digital.
Lucky enough in that most of the important lenses work on my 5D, though my 35mm setup lacked any 'L' series lenses....0 -
The one big advantage of using old 35mm film lenses (where applicable) is that when you upgrade to a full-frame DSLR, you can still use the lenses. If you only have AFCS class lenses, then you would have to buy them all again as they don't work with f/f bodies.Never Knowingly Understood.

Yeah- I put up with slight vignetting on a couple of lenses, but they're only used for family or messing around.0
