ive moved totally to digital photography now so have a couple of 35mm stills cameras to get rid of... One of them cost me a fortune so i want to try and get as much money for it as possible but ebay is suggesting that im not going to get very much!
Any tips on where to sell them?

My sister sold her Canon EOS 35mm SLR camera on Amazon marketplace and got more for it than she paid for it originally! And that was after fees and postage!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0

As you are probably an enthusiast, are you aware of magazine/paper publications like "practice photographer" that have a small classifieds section in the back? they will know the value.
If the ebay price is low, despite true value perhaps thats all you can hope for given the move to nasty digital units!Marry a Foreigner, its so much cheaper!0 -
Make sure you're looking at completed listings for the type of camera you're considering, to get an idea of what they're actually selling and completing for.....
You need an eBay login ID to access the completed listings.0 -
Try somewhere that you can adveritse free online, like a local Gumtree or PreLoved.0

I'd go with Savvy Spender's advice, use a specialist magazine like "Practical Photography". People who are serious about 35mm cameras are most likely to search the classifieds there. Use Amazon Marketplace as the alternative.0

I'm impressed if she bought it new. Even an EOS 1N which would have been the best part of £5,000 when new will only fetch £330 on a good day on Ebay.
I sold an EOS 50e (or was a 30e?) about two years ago, and got £71 - the camera had cost £500 new - and I was surprised to get that.
If the cameras the OP is selling are 35mm compacts, then there is no market for those at all. I suspect the film cameras are either going to students studying photography or die hard enthusiasts who prefer the features of the high end cameras over the convenience of digital.0 -
Might be worth hanging onto the lenses0

the one i want to sell first is a Nikon F80... from the looks of ebay it seems I'd be very lucky to get £50! I suppose tech loses value pretty quickly and 35mm isnt worth much to most people these days...0

Or it might be worth selling the lens separately. What lens does it have? Rare, good quality lenses can go up in price. Unless the camera is vintage it's unlikely to appreciate in price.0
