Mmm this is a tad worrying. We too ordered the teeth whitening from whitening experts through the Groupon Deal last week. We received an email from whitening experts on 3rd Sept (Fri) advising item despatched first class mail.
Nothing has arrived so as per the email we notified them by email yesterday. Obviously a slick customer service op as not even the courtesy of a reply.
Quite concerning too re the spelling mistakes on their website. Even their address which assume should read Truro and not Truvo!!The best things in life are free.....0 -
I've had loads of vouchers via Groupon and so far haven't had a problem with any of them. There have been several deals at restaurants/spa's/hairdressers that I use anyway so feel quite confident booking them. However having read the reviews on several websites now I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I get stung. Gonna keep taking my chances though!0

I've had quite a few deals off them now a few hairdressing ones photobox etc etc So far only one problem and I got a refund.
The reason i got such a quick refund and reply is because I kept posting on their facebook page that I was not happy with not getting a reply and I will no longer by buying deals from them and also telling everyone about the problems I've had.
Maybe try that?

Well how very strange. Tonight we received exactly the same email, word for word except different dates. Same spelling mistakes as well.
So, a batch goes missing from the orders at the beginning of August and now a batch goes missing with beginning of September orders!!
Does this not say something??
By the way did yours ever arrive? The best things in life are free.....0 -

I'm not sure my concerns are addressed!0 -
Thanks for the update Kri,
Well still no package today for us.
I know our postie quite well and he has been looking out for us to.
This certainly seems very fishy now in that two batches (that we know of) have gone missing at complettely different times. I did put a post on the Groupon Aberdeen facebook page to see if anyone else has received theirs but no answer as yet!The best things in life are free.....0 -

Hi there, our first encounter with Groupon was with the Glasses direct offer which worked out really well especially as GD extended the offer and supply of glasses. However we live in Newcastle and bought restaurant vouchers for Hanahana , a japanese restaurant. Around 350 bought the deal and we got our vouchers fine. My husband emailed to make a booking for my birthday in gtwo weeks time and left our tel no. A lady called back to confirm the reservation,he thought from the restaurant but it was from Groupn. My son and daughter came back from their respective univercity towns to celebrate my birthday the other evening only when we got htere there was a sign outside saying No Groupon vouchers will be honoured. My husband went in but the man realy couldn't speak English at all saying 'Groupn messy messy', we got the gist, but it ruined my night. My husband rang Groupn the next day and was told to email his complaint, but the worry is I have bought a few hair deals and other restaurant deals and am now concerned that the same thing is going to happen. Not heard back from Groupon yet!0

I am completely put off Groupon and My City deals by the catalogue of complaints about them on MSE and Hot Deals. From what I have read, I don't think the OP's experience is that unusual. Add to this the price rises which often seem to occur between buying your voucher and being able to spend it and, to me, it makes some of their dealings very dodgy looking. I am also fed up of the relentless promotion of these deals. People can just go to their sites and look what the deals are.0
