Ive got one from 1957.........wonder what its true worth is now, no its never won anthing

1 pound bond is worth 1 pound.

In 1957 1 pound would have bought like 20 or 25 pounds worth of goods now

It might be worth hanging onto a 50s bond as a collectors item. I wouldn't be surprised if someone was willing to pay more than £1 for it.

Not really the same thing as saying 'before I bought the maximum permitted amount' or something of that ilk. The full amount you bought could have been any figure from £1-30,000

The rude comment I'll ignore, as I'll never be offended by someone who thinks that 'in it' is one word ;)

ummmm full amount £1 to £30,000 pick a number :T yup difficult to work out that one.

I have a £1 premium bond too which was a present at birth, and my overall winnings to date are... nothing.

I'm keeping it though. It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling that I might win the jackpot every month without actually having to waste any of my hard earned money buying in.

PB's are like a lottery, more you play more chance you have of winning! For a quid I'd leave it, whether I'd invest up to the PB limit is another matter.
My mum still puts on Liitlewoods pools every week, same numbers for 40 years. Last win was 18 shillings and six pence

Your £1 bond is entered every week automatically and has a chance of winning.

Cash it in, buy a lottery ticket and that gets you one chance of winning, then it's worthless.

No contest as far as I can see. Leave prem bond as is.
  • Leave it and aim for the warm fuzzy feeling described by Reaper. Oh, and post here when you finally win something!! :)
