O2 iPhone Insurance Change
Dear all,
I'm sure very few moneysaving types will still be paying O2 £10 a month for iPhone insurance and have a better cheaper deal....
But, for those (like myself) who never got round to switching from this plan. O2 may just have provided the incentive!
O2 have sent me a letter stating:
The one reason I always justified paying £10 a month for my iPhone insurance was the low excess and the promise of a new phone.
With both incentives taken away  I immediately texted cancel to 20022 and will look for alternative coverage.

O2 have sent me a letter stating:
Your iPhone insurance policy, provided by ACE European Group Ltd, will change on 30 September 2010.
Your premium will stay the same, but the excess on your policy will Change to £100. We have taken this approach so we don't have to increase your monthly premium.
If your claims successful, your replacement will be a re-manufactured iPhone using genuine, new, apple approved parts. Coveed by apples standard 12 month guarantee.
We hope you will continue your policy, but if you want to cancel, text CANCEL to 20022 before 29 September 2010...

loooool
I was with o2 myself then i changed to one of those insurances that come with the reward current accounts. Much better as it only costs £7 a month and provides other stuff like travel insurance and AA cover. Also excess is £30!!!!
I changed from o2 because they wanted £15 a month!!! Any iphone at the moment is 15 quid a month and also 100 quid excess for first time and it even increases the more you claim with 3 claims max. The best part to all of this is a mate of mine opted for this 15 quid a month insurance and lost his iphone 4 about a few weeks after getting it on the release date. Then reported the phone lost and ordered a new sim. When they activated his sim they reactivated the phone by mistake! Then his insurance claim failed and they said he was doing fraud and to write in.
He wrote in and appealed the decision and was told he had to wait 4-6 weeks for a reply. About 2-3 weeks without a phone they decided the mistake was their own and sent him a new phone at £100 excess!!! Now he has canceled his insurance and was unable to use the phone for a few weeks and paid crazy amounts for the phone.
Go with the banks, there much better!0 -

If you have "away from home" or "personal possessions" cover (different name, same thing) on your home contents insurance, your phone is already provided with better cover than the banks will offer FOR FREE!!!!!
There are numerous posts about this on the forum, but ANY form of separate phone insurance is a WASTE OF MONEY!!!!
Rant over.In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0
