Short Break to London

No London eye there? Or south bank attractions.
What about the Globe theatre one evening?0 -
The museums normally state a last admission time, usually an hour(ish) before the place closes. I daren't comment on time you'd need at the Natural History Museum...I love the building, never mind the contents, and when I go through those doors and get into that hall I turn into a big kid and could stay for hours!!!
Without wishing to disprupt your plans, there is a website about free things to do in London, and as you don't have kids to drag along there's quite a bit of choice.0 -
webbo I'm hiding your post from my OH...it would end up far too pricey if he drank his way round London

Thanks for the replies all.
Judging by posts here, I'm going to be wanting to squeeze a lot more into my trip than is possible in four days lol. I found the estimated visit times for attractions on daysoutguide so can work from there on planning things.
Have to say Hethmar, almost everything I've wanted to see is on the north bank, barring London Dungeon.
Really fancy Gordon's wine bar and will probably do that when I visit Trafalgar Square so ty for that suggestion. Will possibly do The London Eye too. Works out I can do a few more things now I can get 2for1 vouchers. The open top bus sounds good value loveabargain, with the river cruise included. I'm not sure I'm going to fit all this in!
Added those sites to my favourites elly & webbo so will look at those tomorrow, ty. My oh chuckled at the price comparison one.
Just booked Chicago and a meal. Got stall tickets for £38 from discounttheatre.com. Really excited about that. In fact I'm really excited about the full trip now, I feel like such a kid lol.
ty again all.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Wednesday
London Dungeons/Taussauds, Tower of London, London Bridge
Do you really mean London Bridge ? Or are you thinking of Tower Bridge ?
How about a river trip from the Tower to round off the day ? You could get a Thames clipper from the Tower to the O2 and then back to the Embankment (check for 2-4-1 deqals on the River roamers). It's a good way of seeing a lot of the sights....0 -
Saturday is a busy day so maybe go to the Churchill Arms one evening, also check out the Buck House website to see what time the changing of the guards is and remember Hamleys isn't cheap.0

I meant the London Bridge Experience, but we'll probably do Tower Bridge too. We'll definitely go on the Thames Clipper, got a voucher for that now, so thanks for pointing me in that direction. Will maybe do that on the day we go do London Dungeon etc.Saturday is a busy day so maybe go to the Churchill Arms one evening, also check out the Buck House website to see what time the changing of the guards is and remember Hamleys isn't cheap.
Ok, decided to do Churchill Arms on Tuesday night, we won't be far from there if we go to Taussauds before it. Makes sense to go see the changing of the guards when we go to Bucky. I'm just going to have a mooch around Hamleys to get ideas for xmas pressies and just for the experience, I'm generally a good MSE'er, although I do have my moments lol.
Thanks for the info guys.

Anyone got any ideas for how to spend an evening or two? Going to Chicago on the Thursday evening, and I'm thinking of doing a Ghost Walk on another. Ideas welcome! There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. The open top bus around london is currently £10 a ticket and you get a free river cruise.
That's a good offer, as it's £25 if you just buy it when you get there.
I'd also reccommend a trip to Covent Garden. It's free, and an easy walk from Leicester Square.0 -
My husband did the Jack the Ripper tour ( Tower Hill station about 6pm I think) and thought it was great. Cost him £10.Anyone got any ideas for how to spend an evening or two? Going to Chicago on the Thursday evening, and I'm thinking of doing a Ghost Walk on another. Ideas welcome!0
