According to vodafail staff in shop and customer services it was from using it while breathing, (not heavily).

Can happen in normal use they said, not necessarily water contact. Funnily enough 13 months into a 24 month contract. Did not even offer to repair at my cost.

    What a waste of money.

As a family we have about 40 years of mobile phone usage and have never had any damage from normal use. I used my old phone for over 5 years and only changed it when DD upgraded and donated her old one.

Never again will I get a 24 month contract. I thought it would stop me having to think about new contracts too often.

    Zzzz

Sounds like the water sensor is a bit too sensitive then. Thats not on.

I know a friend of mine got her phone 'water damaged' by her toddler but she did let him put it in his mouth - so her fault.

I suppose thats the thing with 24 month contracts - how long is the phone guaranteed for? I presume 12 months so what happens if it packs up after 13 months?

Its still in the airing cupboard in a bowl of rice. Big switch back on tonight.

In the meantime, wife has managed to lose her spare phone. Nightmare !!!!
