All I want is a simple mobile phone ...
I need a new mobile phone. I don't want to access the internet, send emails, take photos, read books or listen to music on it. I just want to make/ receive calls and send/ receive texts.
I have a Vodafone Simply phone but at seven years old it's on its knees and unfortunately Vodafone no longer sell the Simply phone.
All the simple mobile phones I've looked at seem to be aimed at the elderly or visually impaired. Is that all there is? If anyone can suggest any alternatives I would be grateful!

How about the Nokia 1661?

Yes Tesco sell simple phones for about a tenner. I have 2 of them one which I use as my main contact for the children and a spare that is used for anyone who loses their phone of for a back up. Nokia not sure of the numbers.0

Thanks everybody for your suggestions which I'll bear in mind today when I go shopping for a new phone. I've looked up the Nokia 1661 on Which? and it gets a good write-up. My husband has a Nokia and I don't really get on with it. However since Nokia seem to be the only manufacturers who do what I'm after, it looks like that's what I'll be coming home with today. Missing my Simply phone already.
Thanks again.0 -
Carphone Warehouse are offering a phone for under £4, but you have to buy a £10 top up if that's any help.0

... and if you can't get to a store, Phones4U offer the Nokia 1661 on Vodafone for £7.95 with free delivery and £6.50 cashback on Quidco (so a phone for £1.45) if you buy £10 top up.
There are similar offers from many retailers and websites.0 -
I was in exactly that position last year. Ended up with a Samsung from staples for a fiver plus ten pound airtime.0
