BT broadband? ridiculous!

I have had no end of problems with bt and now have 4 routers in my house!! They cannot do anything right and have been the bane of my life for the last 6 months. It seems ridiculous that they can get away with the pathetic service thay have the audacity to call 'broadband'. :rotfl:My sevice has been continously interupted for months now and drops out, goes off or just doesn't work. The 'technicians' (and i use the word very losely!) do not have a clue....literally, about anything, even about the engineers that they send over....who never bother to arrive or fob me off with yet another new router.

I have previously had broadband with O2 for £7.50 per month and the service was always impeccable, so obviously it can be done and i cant wait to go back to them...I really would recommened them !

I have quite a while left on my contract but I am considering taking them court unless they let me out of my contract. Any advice?

Are you connecting wired or wireless?
Do you have microfilters on all your telephone extensions?
Is your router connected to the master telephone socket?
What are you router line statistics?
That gum you like is coming back in style.

So why on earth did you switch from 02 LLU at £7.50 to BT at any price (presumably a higher one)?
If it's a router issue, have you tried using the 02 Thomson box instead (the Home Hub in any incarnation is hopeless)?
If you are connecting wirelessly, the first thing I would look at with the HH is the wireless channel. Scan for neighbouring networks and you will probably find several HH's in reach. So log into the router interface and change the default wireless channel to something different.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

its a wired connection straight into the main socket (the only one actually) and i have filter too, there is not justifiable reason and BT cant seem to figure it out.

I switched because i had to but thats not the issue here.
I did not know that the BT hub had a bad rep i will look into getting a different and see if that works.
    Thanks

It's not just the HH that has a bad reputation from BT...

  • i feel your pain - BT are utterly hopeless and try to avoid them at all costs if possible. I have been calling them every week for 3 months now as my BT business broadband service does not work properly. totally useless company, their customer service is poorest i have come across, not sure how they still function as a business? I have had to install a second broadband service as BT just cannot provide the service or support.
