Random DFS thought...

Just a random thought for a Sunday afternoon: why the hell is there always a sale being advertised at DFS?
All jokes aside they do advertise a sale all year round don't they? I mean EVERY advert they produce makes reference to a Summer Sale, or a Winter Sale, or a Blue Cross sale or whatever the hell else...
Are they playing fast and loose with the rules?
Surely in order to have a sale you have to have a 'normal' price at some point in time!

Yes, I agree. I think the same about Dreams bed shops, they've 'always' got some kind of sale on.
I think they have the items at 'full price' in just one store for 28 days and that satisfies the rules AFAIK.Are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation? :cool:0 -
If I bought a DFS sofa during the 30mins per year there wasn't a sale on I wouldn't be happy.0

DFS = Daily F***ing Sale0

if you look at their sales sofas they're often on sale for half price or less. Since their marketing is focused around sales they must still be making a good profit on those half price sofas.
Imagine what the markup must be on sofas sold at full price. I bet a £2,000 sofa only costs them £500, maybe less.0 -
hahaaha imagine buying a sofa that wasnt in a sale and then you go back the next day and its 50% off0

Their sofas are mostly made in china and brought over by container hence the 12weeks delivery time, they make at least 50% mark up and i would have thought that bringing them over here costs a few bob too, i recently bought a £2300.00 sofa from them and sent it straight back their sofas are of very poor quality, however they are not alone most other furniture shops including reids are now bringing in sofas made in the far east and are nothing like what you see in the showroom, ive decided that i will now only buy a sofa that i can sit on and take away from a store then at least i know what im buying needless to say i havent found a decent one yet lol .0

I think they recruited their marketing team from former MFI employees.
Also I'm afraid you are wrong tylerdurden_167 because DFS = Dog F***ing S**t0 -

Doesn't the abbreviation mean something like Discounted Furniture Store?
Hence why there would always be a sale, if it was.
Or, am I missing out on a huge joke here? Lol.0
