Need Help With MBNA

Hi,

my MBNA account has been charged defult sum's for aparently failing to recive the amount every month. I have paid them the amount due but apparently they are saying they are classing it as an aditional payment as im paying it earlyer than i should be.

I have had a word with them over the phone and all i got was that it was my fault and now i wonder wether it is.

I have gone thourgh the contract and no were dose it state that u have to pay from one date to onther eg. 14-29th every month nor dose it state times or anything like that.

When i make the payment from one month it then lets me no online of the next months payment.
But because ive been paying it early there now stating im in the wrong.

Can anyone please help me and tell me if im in the right or wrong as no one seems to know?

problem if you make more than one payment in a charging period it is credited that charging period not carried forward, this is general practice i believe, see what others have to say???

Generally the T+Cs will say something like you must pay the minimum due by the date given. Therefore until the statement is generated you can't make a payment against that minimum.

Happy to oblige...you're in the wrong! ;)

You must make a payment (of at least the minimum shown on your statement) between the day after the statement date and it's respective payment due date.
  • thanks for your kind responces ..i have made my current payment earlier this month....once i made my payment ..it tells me my next statement date..which for next month its stating minimum payment of £60 is to reach your account by the 16th of sept 2010 ..next to this is a clickable button which says make payment (although at this point its 18 days to go)..it will allow me to make this payment.
if i did make this payment i NOW know that it will be taken as an additional payment even tho they have given me that option to pay it...no where does it state that if you make this payment now it will be taken as an addititional payment..

p.s i dont get paper bills its all online..

I'm not sure how it can tell you the minimum payment amount and payment date when the statement has not yet been produced and the statement period is still open for more transactions. Are you sure it's not just an estimate?
  • nope it states total min payment £60 due by 16/9/2010. Even when i click on the make payment now button it dosen't state that this will be an additional suplement nor dose it say estimation.
  • Sounds like it's telling you the next statement date but the current minimum payment and payment date. If it's saying payment is due on 16th Sep this must be the current statement which you have already paid. Where it says 'total min payment £60 due by 16/9/2010' does it specifically relate this to your next statement?
  • it dosent say all i can say is that i have already paid this months statement so it can't be this months statement its got to be next months as i payed this months on the 4th witch was due on th 11th.
  • I've paid well above the min payment twice this month already and still have over £30 to pay by the 12th Sept for the min payment.

No idea how it works as I do this every month and every few months, even though I pay on the same dates or thereabouts, I somehow don't cover the min payment.
  • Will do you agree it dosn't make any sence? lol
