    Afternoon everyone

Well it is sunshine, showers, and very windy here on the East Coast.

Have bbq'd but eaten inside for the last two evenings, but looks like it is too windy today. Went to Skirlington Market this morning, then to Mr Moo's for an ice cream, before returning back to the 'van for lunch.

Using up meat from the freezer, so trying to be OS while away too.

((hugs)) all round, take care - DG

Just off to Dd s for dinner, sorted out all the bills and paid them all so out of debt for this month, and also sorted out freezer and found loads of dinners there for the coming month. No shopping needed for this week at all, so lots of NSDs on the horizon.Filled the ca5r and also topped up my mobile so no expences to find at all:j:j:j
£120.00 put into my food purse ready for the new month to start on Wednesday. Holidays are great, but I like to get things back to normal as soon as I can.
Just remembered I have a £100.00 deposit due back from the holiday house in a fortnight so that too will go back into the bank.
Hope everyone has had a good bank holiday Sunday, its been a bit hit and miss with the weather today i'm glad I got all the washing dried yesterday as its been a bit showery.still forecast isn't too bad for this week, naturally as the kids will be back at school.
    cheers chums

Essex girl - have you tried Ovenmate? It doesnt stink and you don't have to scrub, just paint it on and leave for 10 mins, wipe off, hey presto. It comes from lakeland and I don't work for them, honest!

Have just realised I've gone over on the Aug GC. First attempt tho, so will get better.

Sold DS's old bike on ebay having shelled out for a new one so that offsets the cost somewhat. Thanks specsappeal for reminding me I must cancel Lovefilm, we don't use it enough and it's awful value for money when you keep films for 6 weeks ! And thanks taplady for the great quote in your sig. Very wise words.

Blowing a gale here too, went for a run for the first time in ages and it was very hard work!

Chicken in the oven, new cookery books out of the library to read, doesn't take much to make me happy!

    Afternoon all

I've had a very productive day.

Despite the intermittent showers I've managed to wash and dry my bedding and one towel. I've tidied the lounge and kitchen (including the junk shelf ;)). Washed down kitchen surfaces, hoovered all floors, loaded DW ready to go on later, BM is on, laundry put away, new bedding on bed. I made stuffed peppers for late lunch and had them with roasted new pots and veg - very yummy. As the oven was on I made a lentil pie too, which will be frozen in individual slices to take for lunch next week. I've also got leftover veg and new pots to have tomorrow.

I am still in my PJs though! :rotfl: But I did wash and put on clean pair this morning. I think I'm going out for a drink with my friend later, but she has been in a funny mood all week so not sure. I can't be arsed to deal with her if she is in a mood so I won't contact her first! I'm going to have a shower and pamper myself with a hair mask and facemask. Then I'll go for a walk by the sea if I'm not going out.

    Have a good evening all

Ooh check me out posting 2 recipes in a day! :rotfl:

    Lentil Pie

    - Rinse 1.5 mugs of red lentils, place in saucepan and cover with cold water, add bay leaf (if you have one), bring to boil (without lid) simmer until soft & mushy - about 15mins.

    - When lentils are soft add 1 tspn or so of butter or marge, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, and season. Add beaten egg when lentil mix is coolish (cos it will scramble & cook otherwise)

    - Meanwhile in a frying pan soften 1 chopped onion, garlic to taste, mixed herbs-generous amount, 1 crumbled up shredded wheat or 1 thick slice of bread-crumbled (if mixture sloppy add more bread)

    - Add this mix to lentils, mix & place in loaf tin or pie dish, top with grated cheese cook in middle of oven- 180C for 20-30 mins - until cheese melted & browned.

This is a family recipe so I've guestimated at amounts. I have it for veggie roast dinner, it;s lovely with onion gravy. It can be frozen, like I said I take it for lunch to work sometimes. My dad likes it cold with ketchup!

Thanks Flutterby, I hope that unlike Nigella, you kept your knickers on whilst writing it out! ;) It sounds great, think I will stick it in the oven tonight. :D

    That Lentil Pie sounds yummy!

    Afternoon All

Just watching the Edinburgh Tattoo, DD was in it 2 years ago and it brings back happy memories as I helped at the rehearsals. DS1 was in it a long time ago too.

Have washed and dried 6 loads today including two lots of bedding, the weather is sunny and windy so ideal. Also cut the grass so that looks a lot tidier. Apart from that not done a lot as I have a stinking cold and feel a bit rotten.

DS2 made a fantastic pot of chicken and rice soup yesterday which we had for lunch again today and just the thing if you are feeling a bit carp. He made a bit much though and I think I will be taking it to work all week!

Glad you had a good holiday JackieO and welcome to welshcamper. Hope you all have a good week. XX
