    My budget for September is

    £ 225

...which is a bit lower than usual, but only because September will be a three-week-ish month in terms of shopping (we'll be out an about for work etc for a number of meals).

Good luck with the new month everybody!

thank you Hippeechiq - such a great thread and everyone`s so friendly!

i do like the idea of seperate envolopes for each week - feels more organised but for this month i think i`ll keep a diary of what i spend (along side the soa i do each month),

i`ll include food, drink, dog food & treats and tolitries,

so today i need to declare £9.39
omg and that was just on milk, bread, dog treats and a few essentials! so suprising how soon it adds up!
  • Gah. Another £3.30 spent today. Needed sandwich meat.

I never seem to manage a NSD.

Need bananas, bread & golden syrup tomorrow

    Sig upto date

Anyone know of any good loo rolls offers? I have somehow forgotten to get any and want to just do a run in and out to stop me buying anything else. :)

Hi jackie, I started using A$da/Te$co smart price/value ones - both 12 for £1.29 - a few months back. Te$co are better quality than A$da, but the sheets are smaller, but I appreciate they're not everyone's cup of tea.

It saves me enough to treat myself to a bottle of wine each month so that there's more to life than save, save, save......... Give me a glass of wine over something posh to wipe my backside on anyday :D

Oooh thanks for the bizzare food idea's.

Ok Kids back at school tommorrow so needed a "packed lunch shop" .. grrr... hate going to mrA's i always spend more than i planned.

£37.02 spent out of this months budget on the first day... not so good. However I do now have stuff to pop into lunch boxes for most of the month, including a few treats, so fingers crossed.

Thanks for the loo roll tips, I usually buy aldi £1.89 for 9 I think they are, but if a nicer one is on offer, I am not fussy :p The one and only time I used Tesco cheapie ones, they were full of whit powder, it took me a day or two to realise my bottom didn't have dandruff :rotfl:

jackieglasgow, Co-*p has 2 packs of (I think) 9 of their own label for £5 - I realise that's not cheaper than Aldi but you might like them more!

Hippeechiq, thanks so much for telling us exactly how you do it. Anyone else willing to share the nuts and bolts?

Just done the back to school shop, we're on packed lunches from now on so am going to cost out exactly what I'm putting in them vs £2.20 a day school lunch. My OH reckons I won't save any money but I hope I will as I've just bought teeny tupperwares and a new lunch box to sell the idea to my reluctant DS!

Sep starts here, as a result of the above. Stocked up on certain things just now as I don't always go to Ald* or Mr T but so far £25.60 at Ald*, Mr T 23.84 and Co-*p 11.49, ie £60.93, just off to update sig. Plenty in fridge and freezer so should be ok for this week... as I've often said before, and been proved wrong, it's the things I dont 'allow for, eg fresh veg, juice, milk etc that seem to tot up to so much.

    Happy GC all!
