I It has now been the four days and I have opened an Unpaid case dispute.
I think the wording is misleading I read it as the case had been open for 4 days. But my original advice stands
Right I get that now - but when Cyberbob said if it's been 4 days you can close the dispute...They come back with ..."Thanks. I just did this. I think I now have to wait for them to agree to the cancellation of the sale"

Yet in the OP they stated they had started an UID?

OP - Did you start a UID or a mutual withdrawal....if it is the latter then I can't see them agreeing to it and you have left yourself open to a neg which is non removable (unless they mess up their comment). You should have started a UID then you would have got back your fee's and they couldn't neg you....:(

I'm confused if they did or did not open a Unpaid item or sent a mutual . The OP needs to clarify the situation

I think the OP is a little muddled....I suspect they started a mutual...in which case they have made a big mistake (IMHO) .....in circumstances like this I go down the UID route everytime! If they don't pay then I get my fees back and protection from a neg. If they do pay then at least I get to keep their money in exchange for the neg!!

I am also unsure about why they put "urgent" in the title? If they have started a UID (or a mutual) and seem to know they have to wait 4 days why is it urgent??

They have just emailed me saying that if I don't close the case in the next 90 minutes they will intentionally pay for the item and leave negative feedback.

So 90 mins is kind of urgent.

This all seems to have gone a bit wrong. :(
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

    I think OP was over-refreshed.

But the OP seems to know that she can not ACTUALLY do anything in 90 mins. To 'close' the case she would have to indicate that she received payment which would be untrue. From the later post they seem to know that they have to wait the 4 days??

Is there an option to do a mutual cancellation after you have opened a uid?
  • Blimey, there really are some over dramatic bed wetters populating ebay.

I don't think there is.....I do believe there used to be an option when closing the 'old style' UID. There used to 4 options when you went to close it...The buyer has paid, The buyer has not paid, we have agreed to cancel the transaction and another one that I can't remember....LOL...But since they changed the Resolution process I think it is more open and shut...Either they paid or they didn't!

So thinking about it if they are waiting for 'agreement' from the buyer then it must have been a mutual cancellation they did and not an UID...

I do not want any stranger coming to my house. I also don't want to do it in the middle of a car park - I am not sure I would be able to tell whether they have just given me an envelope full of fake notes.

Also, what happens if it ends up being her and her three 6 foot 18 stone brothers against me?

Also, what's to stop them then complaining that they never received their item later?
    For a broken iPhone? Really?

You must worry when you take your ordinary mobile phone out of your house if that is what you routinely feel.

If the buyer wants to pay cash then they have no comeback for INR with Paypal or eBay.

    @Gav - no.
