Help needed to buy a laptop

Hi guys, I was hoping someone may be able to help with some advice on what sort of spec I need for a new laptop.
My old one was a present so I have no idea what spec it was but now that it has died I'm tasked with finding a new one with no one to turn to for advice on what I should be looking for!
It's main use is for browsing the internet, using ebay and storing photos. Chances are there are going to be plenty of photos on there so I know I will need a reasonable size memory. The computer is likely to be used every day and another big use is gaming. These are simple puzzle games, hidden object ones etc that you buy in the shops for a fiver, nothing hi-tech like some of the others - but they get played a lot!
So basically, something that will support these games, lots of daily usage and hold my pictures. I suppose a good battery life would be handy too.
Can anyone advise what sort of things I should be looking for based on this usage, how much it is likely to cost and if you know the best sort of places to look for offers?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I can't post links yet but I'd go for this HP:
HP G62-107SA
Core i3 processor
2GB RAM
250 GB Hard disk
Windows 7 Home Premium
It has a better processor than all of the models you linked to.
It has integrated graphics and shared memory but ok for the types of games you mentioned. Battery life is about the same at 2-2.5 hours for most laptops except thin/light models.
By the way, I wouldn't recommend keeping your photos solely on a laptop. laptops are not as reliable as desktops and their hard disks never seem to last as long. Therefore, you should save them to CD/DVD Disks regularly and/or an external hard disk or even an online storage site.0 -

It's been dropped, trodden on, slapped about, and still worked perfectly at the point of giveaway. Since then it has been properly abused judging by the bits of casing that are physically missing, and it still refuses to die gracefully.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -

It's on the Currys site. Click Home computing and go to Page 2.
It's been reduced from £499.99 to £349.00. Only available on Reserve & Collect though.0 -
Cheers, will have a look now. Is theCore processor better than the Dual Core or Core 2 Duo then?0
