Advice on buying 19" TV

I'm looking to buy a good quality 19" TV and would appreciate any advice on which make or model to buy. I think it's probably between a Panasonic Viera or Sony Bravia. Is there any difference in quality/reliability or a better product I should be looking for?
Many thanks.

Both Panasonic and Sony are considered to be among the top brands, and consequently among the more expensive. I should make your final decision by viewing them-that's what matters at the end of the day.

I have a Sony Bravia in the lounge and a Panasonic 19" in the bedroom. There is very little difference between them though the Sony is 32" and seems better because of the larger screen. The quality of the picture on both sets is superb so it would be difficult to say which is better.
I went into my local John Lewis store to look at all the telly's and that how I picked the ones I have. If you have a local store go in as the staff are really helpful.

IMHO it is always worth a trip to a Richer Sounds store if you have one near you - the prices are normally very competitive but the 5 year warranty is the key - they charge a flat 10% of the purchase price for theirs.

I've got a Richer Sounds TV with that warranty - slightly worried... I think there is some clause saying they won't repair if more than the resale value of your TV, considering how quickly they depreciate !

I haven't had to use my warranty so far but one of my work colleagues had their TV replaced for a newer, better specification model after 3 years because they could not obtain parts for the original TV so I suspect this is what they mean.

    With RS? That's a relief :D

On the left hand side, click on Sony and if you are quick you might get one of the last few of the 19" ones. I've got 2 of these (kitchen and bedroom) and they are great but I paid £219 and £186 for mine.
