Can I negotiate after 10 months?

I am 10 months into a 24 month mobile contract. I hardly use my phone save for texting mates and the odd call/browsing session

I am on Orange Panther plan 25 (400 mins per month + 300 texts) paying £25 a month but only use maybe 100-150 mins and 150 texts of this plan.

Would Orange negotiate a price drop for me or am I stuck paying for mins and texts that I never use?

They will, but a lot depends on what you got by way of free stuff at the start. If you got an I Phone 3g for next to nothing, they may impose a penalty for stepping down, but they usually will visit a contract change 6 months into 24 or 3 months into 12.

Give their customer services a call and see what they offer.

It is often worth threatening to leaqve (early termination fee can be big, but a lot less than 14 months of over paying) this inquiry can lead to a contract reduction as a compromise.

I got a Blackberry 8530, just looked at my plan and it is actually 300 txts per month limit. So it's basically £20 for the mins/texts and £5 for the internet.

One other thought, and maybe a long shot but some companies, particularly "3" will offer size-able cash incentives to buy you out of your current supplier, this can lessen the blow for an early termination if you have to go down that line.

They said wait until I have done 12 months and they will knock me a fiver off.
