Orange Upgrade - Is it possible

I have just called the Orange Retentions department and asked them if I could upgrade my phone, only to be told that my 12 month contract runs out on the 12th October and will not be able to do anything until then. Is this correct or are they telling me porkies?
The reason I ask is because last year I managed to upgrade my phone in month 10 with no questions asked. Also, my present phone is useless as I cannot get a signal at home (even though my partner can, and she is also on Orange but a different phone). When I told them about this they did not seem bothered about it at all....
Is it worth ringing them again and asking for my PAC?
Cheers for any help....

No, you can only get your PAC code when your 12 months is up, unless you buy your contract which will involve buying out your contract, ie paying all remaining line rental0

Also something to bear in mind is that with Orange you will have to give them 30 days notice to cancel the contract.Nearly debt free

Hi ya,
I tried to upgrade my phone last month, but they didn't even try to keep me, the lady said that there was an upgrade fee, and that was at the start of my 12 month (of a 12 month contract) !! So I asked for my PAC code and they automatically gave me it without trying to entice me to stay
I have a k750i and as my contract finishes in the middle of this month can Orange unlock it for me? If so, do I just ring retentions and ask?

its customer services to get the phone unlocked
with orange retentions it depends on spend to when they can offer the upgrade. somtimes its earler for customers that spend that little extra.0 -
my gf is in month 11 of 12 month contract and they won't offer her anything even thou the website states that within the last 3 months you can change to any new tariff.. strange.. as for handsets, told her she'd have to pay £150 fee plus handset price.. told em to stick it and we'd be given the notice very soon.. shame as she likes orange and really wanted one of their white W810i's..0

I've been an Orange customer for the last two years and am in the final month of my current contract; I pay £25 for 100 landline minutes, 100 Xnetwork minutes and 50 texts.
I was offered a contract from Phones 4 U yesterday that would give me 400 Xnetwork minutes and 250 texts for £9.99 with Three (over 18 months) via a cheque back scheme so I called Orange this morning and asked if they could match the offer. The best that Orange could offer me was 175 Xnetwork minutes and 300 text messages for £20; the interesting bit though was that they said that Orange no longer have a price match plan. Is this correct or are they fobbing me off.
I would like to stay with Orange but the saving offered by Phones 4 U is too significant to ignore.
Any advice? Does anyone have experience of the cheque back schemes?0 -

Orange will charge you a hefty fee to unlock it, get it done for a fiver from your local market stall.0
