Value for money paint

Hi, we've had some work done in the house and are now just about to paint half of our extension (it's not a huge room). We're thinking of painting it neutral/magnolia. Have heard about cheap paint being false economy because you end up putting more coats on than more expensive paint. Just wondering if anyone has any…

Just seen this thread - Wickes DIY claim their own brand paint is as good as you can buy. Just had some decorating done under insurance and the decorator used Dulux and will not use anything else. Normal Dulux from B & Q for matt emulsion. However for gloss he uses a German brand which he can only get from one shop in the UK ! My son-in-law always uses Dulux Professional for gloss and his paintwork looks fantastic.
