Help needed with alarm for Jag XType 2002

Options
I have a similar problem as others on the forum regarding the alarm and i am hoping that they read this and let me know how they fixed the problem.
Alarm sounds for no reason when locked when i disarm it the dash says rear passenger door open when it is not.
Took it to dealer bought new remote £98 who says nothing wrong with the doors and warning light was now off travelled home 35 miles and next day problem is there again.
I do not want to travel to this dealer again if possible and would hope I can solve this myself at home.
(tauwheed pb14 daveyjp rgotam) all have had the same problem but none has said how it was solved. Please help!!

Not familiar with the X type system, but the clue is the door open light. The switch on that door needs cleaned up or replaced as it is fooling the alarm into thinking someone has opened the door.

The problem is that there is a sticky switch in the door latch mechanism. This switch is telling the computer that a door is open, even when it is not.

With the door open you will see the latch mechanism. Just above these latches inside each door is the switches. To unstick these switches you will need 2 types of spray lubricant. Use WD-40 (or equivalent) and a can of silicon spray lubricant.

With the plastic tube attached on the WD40 you will spray inside the latch and in between the latch to get the spray to lube the switch. Flooding is preferred. Seeing as you have the can out do all the doors. Open and close the door multiple times until the switch is free and the indicator lamp goes out and the monitor message does not appear.

Next apply the silicon lube in the same fashion. Why is this necessary? WD-40 loosens and penetrates to unstick the switch. Later it will become tacky and cause the switch to stick again. The silicon spray lube will wash away the WD-40 and replace with a silicon coating that will not cause stickiness as it dries. Be sure to get between the door latch and door metal and spray upward this is the best way with no door disassembly required.

If in the extreme case you feel you need to renew the door latch then go to ford for it not Jaguar it's half the price, and yes it is a ford latch.

This can also happen if you used a carwash or jetwash that forced the tiniest amount of water into the wrong place. Car's are designed to drain rain water, which surprisingly falls vertically or even horizontally, but never upwards.

Mine required a new door lock. WD40 fixed it for about a day. Mine was a problem with the microswitch in the lock which enables the deadlocking system.
