I would agree with previous responses saying send a letter to management with your grievances and then forget about it! We have just returned from Longleat and stayed in really nice NEW executive lodge near the Plaza. All was well with us but on approaching the reception we noticed a long line of very unhappy guests with lists of complaints. They were nearly all from the old style accommodation and one family we spoke to showed us their list which ranged from filthy uncleaned bathrooms, stinking bedding and carpets and mould everywhere. They were in tears as this was supposed to be their dream holiday. Reception response to these complaints was bordering on hostility!

Centerparcs are concentrating on building wonderful new treehouses and other high end accommodation and totally ignoring the old original villas all of which were built cheaply and some are over 20 years old but they are still charging people a lot of money to stay in them. I used to think CP relied heavily on customer satisfaction and returning guests and it probably used to be the case but it certainly isn't now and soon it will have the same clientel and atmosphere as Butlins. The management do not seem to care about customer satisfaction (at least not at the bottom end anyway) and only care about profit and the staff especially in the services, shops and restaurants are demoralized.

It is such a shame because I have always loved taking the kids there but unless they start looking after their guests better I think I will be looking for somewhere else to go.

People should vote with their feet and stop going but what is the alternative if you don't want to go abroad?

A group of 8 of us went to Whinfell last week and stayed in a Comfort plus lodge, it was smelly as you walked in main entrance (smelt of wet dog) we had to wash most items in Kitchen before preparing food, we requested for maintenance guy to change 4 bulbs and to fix the cooker door which wouldn’t shut, we had to go to customer services with a list of items that were missing from Kitchen cupboards (which in fairness they handed over straight away)

Cleaning standards were not at its best on this visit, we didn't want to complain because we know how hard these cleaners work.

My kids love CP and I have already booked for March 2013 at Whinfell, this time we are staying in one of the Woodland lodges.

However I’m appalled that Center Parcs have put a new policy in place this year; to also charge disabled people for a central lodge location, we have a disabled person in our group and we have been going to Whinfell for a few years and never paid to have a lodge with a disabled parking spot near centre. I have written to CP with my disgrace and waiting for reply.
